“Let’s keep this on” more like “never press the buy button on Steam”

You can’t just use this meme every 5 minutes for karma… oh wait.

Gamers: The graphical leap this generation sucks.

    One development cycle later…

    Gamers: “No! Not like that.”

Ive never understood this. People out there bragging about how they can run a game at like 60+fps in 4k with dlss. Like…its just downsampled (remember when supersampling was a thing????) to like 1440 or 1080…so why not just save money and buy a 1440 display and run everything native??? Seems like it would be the simpler and more cost effective way. Wtf cares if its “4k” if its not native

It feels like almost everything is unoptimized nowadays. Some examples are egregious but the bloat seems to be basically standard now unless the game has far less developer emphasis on graphics (think BG3).

It’s telling that most people on here don’t know that rasterization isn’t “native”, and uses a ton of different tricks, techniques, and work arounds to get games to a playable frame rate.

Upscaling is no different in that regard. It’s just easier and streamlined.

It’s a crutch to get FPS to “passable” standards at launch then optimizing it over the next few months. It’s actually kind of a unfunny joke. But it works, cause how often do we see people say “credit to the devs for getting the game to a good place.”

“modern game unoptimised” is the joke

Wait you just saying that vram memory leak is a feature now?

I’m starting to think that no one in this subreddit knows about the existence of medium settings
