To be fair, this would work if you got every single drop of moisture out and it somehow miraculously didn’t leave too many minerals like limestone behind when it dried. It’s the same logic of a phone being ok after it was submerged in water as long as you dried it out with rice and didn’t turn it on until it was completely dry.

You guys need to chill a bit. I just did a recap on an SNES 1 chip and soaked the whole board like this with vinegar and then iso alcohol. Electronics are fine as long as you let them dry before you give them power. The only reason people use iso instead of water is because it dries faster/cleaner. Distilled water would also work just fine, but it takes forever for it to dry (like multiple days)

Don’t forget to dry it off in the oven. Pre-heat the oven to 500°F or 260°C and place the GPU in on the middle rack, ideally on a non-stick baking sheet. If you don’t have a non-stick baking sheet, then you can cover the middle rack with some aluminum foil and coat the aluminum foil with butter or any non-butter substitute. Leave in the oven to dry for 30 minutes after which you want to then turn the heat down to 350°F or 177°C and leave for another 15 minutes. Let stand for 30 minutes to cool off.
