Sea of Thieves. Graphics are meh and gameplay is serviceable at best, but I just love the game

Palworld was fun at first, and meets these criteria. But the fun kinda died out pretty quick, there’s just not enough there for me.

Reign of Kings.
A completely broken mess yet I had so much fun with It and I have yet to find a similar experience.

Kill me but personally I say Ark survival evolved. Everyone knows how big of a shit show that game was but it always had 40k players on steam (before they split the player base with asa…) because there was nothing else like it that scratched the same itch so well.

Ark feels like it was designed by blind monks, but I still sunk hundreds of hours into it.

It’s a janky mess that is filled with bugs but is somehow still amazing.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, simply for hitting me at the right place and time. It’s really hard to elaborate why it hit so hard, but it did.

Duke 64 (but it had 10/10 gameplay nvm)

Oh god Deadly Premonition is absolutely the correct answer.

I don’t know how much this fits but Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Me and my friend were obsessed with battlefield 1 and were looking for something else to scratch the itch with the free playable demo of Ghost Recon came out and we were having a blast with the game. Not the actual gameplay or missions. But exploiting bugs. We constantly tried to find ways to kill eachother despite having no friendly fire allowed. Our favorite was playing chicken with a helicopter. Anyway never bought or played the main game that was trash.

The first thing that came to mind is Fallout New Vegas. I can’t imagine how much better it could’ve been if Bethesda didn’t rush Obsidian. Yet, it’s still my favorite game of all time.

Godzilla PS4, great for Godzilla fans, bad for basically every one else.

Not buggy but Outer Wilds kinda fits too. Midling graphics. Any individual instance of gameplay is not particularly exciting compared to many games. But it’s still a 12/10 game and one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure to have. I wish I could experience it for the first time again.
