I mean consecutive numbers, not like Cyberpunk 2077. I can only think of Final Fantasy XVI but maybe there's something higher that I don't know or don't remember.
[edit] I see that my post wasn't clear and I apologize. I mean series that started at number 1 (well, with no numbers) and went up to the highest possible number (my example of Final Fantasy is perfect in this). So, no Fifa or Madden because they didn't start with regular numbers but simply put the year.
[edit2] other good mentions from redditors that I've seen are Might and Magic (up to 10), Romance of the Three Kingdoms (up to 14), Ys (up to 10), Dragon Quest (up to 11). Mega Man is kind of weird because starting from Mega Man X someone consider them 2 different series (goes up to 18), so I don't know what you think of it. King of Fighters didn't number the first games the same way (it doesn't go from 1 to 15).
[edit3] Looks like Fritz (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritz_(chess) is a possible winner now, because the chess game goes from 1 to 19.

There are 2 Madden 25s.
One is Madden 2025, which I guess wouldn’t qualify.
But one is the Madden 25th anniversary game, which kind of would?
Wouldn’t it be something like one of EAs sports titles? Even if we start with 2000, aren’t they just calling them Madden 24 or whatever now?
I mean FIFA has games coming out every year since 94
I mean, I remember my brother getting Fifa in 1996.
Fifa started in 1993 and we had obce every year since then so we had over 30 of those already. Not counting side projects like street fifa or something.
Halo Infinite
Give it a couple years and Zup! will probably surpass FF
Final Fantasy, King Of Fighters is probably second with XV being the newest.
Possibly Final Fantasy. I wouldn’t count sports games, as they’re named after the year, rather than indicating that they’re a sequel.
Do you count arcade games? Beatmania IIDX is up to 30 or 31 I believe
FF XVI doesn’t count according to your own criteria, so I’ll say Megaman 11.
Any of the warhammer 40k games
Depending on how you count, I’d say Danganronpa V3 is pretty far up there.
Btw, >!Danganronpa 25!< was the best. Those who know, know.
Really does make you question the average human intelligence with the amount of people who seem completely unable to grasp the question being asked here.
I’m laughing so hard imagining the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 in this context. “Goddammit you would think after the first 2,076 of them we would have solved this issue!!!”
Surprised nobody mentioned Touhou, whose latest entry is Touhou 19
Dragon Quest got up to XI, it doesn’t beat FF but it’s an honourable mention
Touhou Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost is commonly known as TH19 owing to how long and wordy some of the series titles can get so a number system is used as an alternative. Fire Emblem also does a similar thing, but what numbers the newer stuff is at differs from person to person because of a few reasons
I interpreted the complete opposite of what you asked, sorry OP.
It begs the question though, there are a lot of games that do not have a chronological number in their titles (Similar to Windows).
Resident Evil is coming up on its 9th main entry, not counting remakes and spin offs.
The rhythm game Beatmania IIDX is location testing its 32nd entry Pinky Crush in arcades right now.
Edit: I saw someone else make the same comment. Could IIDX be the longest running numbered game series?
Street Fighter 2. jk jk but kinda not.
I understand your question and anyone with a working brain should too, it’s Final Fantasy.
[Romance of the 3 Kingdoms](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romance_of_the_Three_Kingdoms_(video_game_series)) has made it to 14 (XIV) without a break in numbering them sequentially, with the number being part of the title and, as a bonus, all games are Just “Romance of the 3 Kingdoms n”, with an optional subtitle.
[The King of Fighters](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_King_of_Fighters) gets to XV, but hasn’t always had the number in the official title.
Some other honorable mentions:
Kings Quest has 8 numbered entries;
Romance of the Three Kingdoms has 14 numbered entries;
Nobunaga’s Ambition has 16 games, but they didn’t number them;
Might and Magic has 10;
Phantasy Star has heaps of games, including classics such as PS 0 (zero), and PS Online 2: Episode 6;
Ys has 10 games;
Touhou has at least 19 numbered entries
I did a bit of research, there’s a German chess program called Fritz, the latest in the series is Fritz 18, so if you want to count that it’s got Final Fantasy beat
Other pretty big ones I could find was
Dragon Quest 11
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 14
King of Fighters 15
Danganronpa V3
Mega Man? That series hit some high numbers too.
NBA 2K25.
NBA 2K dropped in 1999, then 2k1, etc.
It’s gotta be Final Fantasy 16 because each mainline game is an entirely new thing.
Sports games would win if they weren’t just roster updates annotated by year.
Final Fantasy has, by far, the most unique titles in its lineage and ironically they’re all good to excellent. At the very least they make people feel, which is more than most AAA titles.
King of Fighters 99
Disney Infinity 3. Infinity 3!!! Checkmate bitches.
Jerma fans know the Nancy Drew Computer games have over 30 entries
Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Final Fantasy are definitely up there, but don’t forget Madden NFL, which is at 24 and still going strong.
FIFA since 1993 and NHL since 1991 have been mentioned, but also Konami’s Winning Eleven \ Pes \ eFootball has been around consistently since 1995.
If the DBZ games had continuous sequential numbering they’d probably take the cake
Street fighter
Halo Infinite
i would imagine it would be FIFA or some such sports game, granted it didnt start from 0, but i imagine 97-2024 would still count
Idk if it’s the highest but Dynasty Warriors has to be up there.
Kingdom Hearts has 358/2 … which I think is about 179
Football Manager / Championship Manager has been running more or less since 1982.
Should be the winner, I assume.
Final fantasy got to 16
The Trails series are on 12 games, with the 13th coming in september now.
Mortal kombat is up there, I think
If only they had kept naming Super Mario Bros numerically
I believe it’s Tetris
Halo INFINITE 😉
Late to the party, but honorable mention to
Call of Duty 21: Black Ops 6
