I’m watching milo’s stream and tbh I am sick and tired of everyone complaining about everything.
The zombies cycle has become monotonous ever since the aether story ended.
As a zombies fan I just cannot comprehend why everyone hates everything about bo6, don’t get me wrong, mwz and vanguard are hideous, but even after they listened and brought back a lot of what makes zombies, zombies, we are now instead complaining about the visuals of a map in a storyline that clearly is different and far apart from what we had in the past.
We must accept change, old zombies is probably never coming back and we must be assertive about what we complain about.
Be critical, not crybabies about the changes they implement and if you don’t like the new zombies, everyone is welcome to go back to past games.
Zombies stopped being Activision’s main concern a looong time ago and I am at least happy we are still getting content, but complaining about the smallest things will never get us anywhere.
Everyone is welcome to reply and discuss in the comments, let’s just keep it civil :).

The players yearn for the chaos story to return but don’t realise it
I can’t believe the HUD is a make or break for so many people.
I feel like an alien for liking zombies for the gameplay, wonder weapons, and story.
Zombies fans have got to be the whiniest I’ve seen in a hot minute. We’ve ended becoming just as bad as the MP community when we were supposed to be better.
We gave them credit where credit is due with Terminus because it genuinely looks good.
It goes both ways. Liberty falls looks like complete ass and we’re allowed to voice our thoughts. It doesn’t even match CW zombies quality. It’s more like a vanguard map.
It’s a whole lot of nothing burger. Like why are the Terminus enemy types on Liberty? It doesn’t even fit the map but they couldn’t be bothered to come up with something original.
some ppl can deal with the nostalgia, those game are far done, we played them, we enjoyed them and that’s it. This is the new era of Zombies, we need accepted it. Maybe one day we will get our full remastered zombie collection but not in the near future
I was honestly a tad disappointed about the Liberty Falls gameplay but I’m still excited for it. Zombies is zombies and I’ll find a way to find some fun
People just want to be negative because it’s not BO3. Every single thing that is whined about boils down to the game not being BO3.
It’s tiring. As someone who’s been playing since WAW, fuck, as someone who used to be a staff member on the old CODZ forums, I’m actually hyped for both new maps. But I come here and it’s a bunch of close-minded reactionaries who weren’t going to like the game to begin with.
The state of the community these days is disappointing, especially compared to how things were. But I guess we’re all nostalgic here in that case.
This subreddit is just an echo chamber of negativity and I think it’s time for me to keep my enjoyment of Zombies to myself.
Tf the community has been like this for years. I remember getting back into zombs a year ago and seeing this subreddit, nothing’s really changed. It’s always been classic vs new and if not that why map A is way better and you’re stupid for liking map B.
people love to complain about cod nowadays because they have nothing else worth it in their life
People thought we were getting BO3 part 2.
We’re really just getting Cold War part 2 with Gobblegum microtransactions.
At least the intro cinematic is lit?
After Liberty Falls, this community genuinely drained my excitement. I still hold the same stance on the game, there is nothing I didn’t expect that got revealed during COD Next. I’m still cautiously optimistic and there are both positives and negatives based on my own opinion that I’ve known about for well over a month.
What is drained is my excitement to engage with the community. To discuss, to see other people’s thoughts and opinions, to see funny memes or cool details, to feel that shared belonging to something we like. Other communities that I’m part of does have their fair share of negativity. Hell, I’m a Sonic fan, I’ve received tons of bad takes and negativity both within and outside the Sonic fandom. Still, at its very core I think that community has an overall love for what they’re critiquing, regardless of how dumb the critique is.
Here, that love is buried in tons of misguided opinions that shifts and turns. Echo chambers and toxicity. We knew what we were getting, we have seen gameplay before, we knew of every mechanic, we’ve seen the HUD before. Yet so many people suddenly built up a lot of hype within the few days the cinematic came out and then suddenly came crashing down with disappointment and shock that the mechanics they advertised were actually in the game. If it was just complaints about the map, that would be fine, if it was about details about the mechanics we didn’t know before, that too would be fine, but all the other 180s are genuinely blowing my mind and I think I’m suffering from whiplash.
I don’t know if I should place the entire blame on the community for being so bipolar or if I should blame it on Treyarch not communicating enough. I personally think it was very well communicated that LF was a smaller map akin to The Giant and that the mode itself is their attempt at improving on CWs mechanics by taking inspiration from BO3. Not that they were going to completely remake BO3 or create a whole new system. Perhaps that wasn’t clear enough.
I think I’m done with this community for now. It will probably be better after BO6 launches.
“We must accept change” doesn’t mean we should accept the soulless slop that’s being sold for $70.
I’m all for change, I love bo4 and I played the shit out of CW, 100%ing them both. MWZ wasn’t my cup of tea but that’s ok, can’t enjoy everything. Liberty Falls, however, is a fucking insult to the franchise, based solely on first impressions on visuals and content creator gameplay. The map lacks any and all zombies atmosphere; you can’t just slap some wallbuys and perk machines on an MP map and call it zombies content, that’s exactly why CWZ fell off a fucking cliff in terms of quality. You’ve got to actually ADD to the environment to make it fit the zombies aesthetic; sticking a room in the middle of the map with a Dark Aether purple filter just doesn’t cover it. And it’s not even the fact it’s daytime, Alpha Omega, Tag Der Toten, Die Maschine and Firebase Z (arguably) are all post bo3 examples of phenomenal looking daytime zombies maps. Liberty Falls is just depressingly bland. Hell, even VANGUARD at least tried to make their shameless asset flips fit the theme of the gamemode.
BO6 is also apparently taking the CW approach to gameplay to try to appeal to MP mains, meaning anyone who’s played at least one round of zombies since 2012 will be able to hit round 100 within a couple hours. Yay.
Idk, I’ll probably look back in a couple of days with a different opinion, but from what I saw in COD Next I’m incredibly disappointed. What did 3arc spend these last 4 years actually doing?
Some of us see the fact that it has become Warzone with zombies. Those of us not from the iPad generation grew up with maps with atmosphere, good storytelling, and a strong artistic vision.
Designing for the lowest common denominator has taken priority in most entertainment, and zombies is just the newest victim.
Think that is too harsh? Why do I need health bars with the text “Zombie” and XP for a headshot, followed by medals for getting multikills? That is the exact example of what this design has done to dismantle the unique gamemode that once was.
Cold War was to the Zombies community what the Star Wars sequels were to the Star Wars community. It created a hard divide in the fanbase that will likely last forever. This is just the way things are now.
Most gaming subreddits are toxic these days and will only server you content to get you to engage, most of it being rant or ragebait. This is game that’s supposed to be fun. If it’s not, then leave. No one wants to hear you complain or read a whole page on something being being bad to you. It’s one opinion in millions and will have no sway especially on some internet form. What used to be nice niche communities are now engagement bait to ensure you make the website money with ads and traffic
This subreddit is a cesspool of toxicity and lower thinking other than a phew of us seriously they are also hypocrites
People have thought zombies is dead since BO2 with Tranzit. Every release always has the most vocal and annoying gamers that think they know what is best for the series. As for old zombies, I think saying it will never come back is incorrect because it never left. World at War is still available for the most purist of zombies players, but for some reason these folks would rather spend their energy whining about shit that doesn’t matter like HUD.
I’m cool with changes been playing since the beginning but I cannot stand that they put plates in fucking zombies should’ve left that in warzone. Unless they have the equivalent of the golden plates I think my zombies days may be done
Toto Wolf?
Terminus still has a chance to be great but Liberty Falls just ain’t it. You’re actually complaining more about the complaining than anyone I’ve seen complain about the game
Hate me if you will but after the Blandness of MW3 zombies.. im ready for both maps. As OG zombies player i realize the frustration of Liberty Falls that some of the fanbase might have but im still hyped for both maps, some say they keep milking the aether storyline but they have a lot to tell imo that is my 2 cents.
I don’t mind pretty much any of the changes, it just looks boring. Watching streamers get past round 40 easily months before the game even comes out was just an anticlimactic hype-killer for me in an unexpected way. I feel like some of the nitpicking is just people looking for some reason why they’re not as excited after seeing it as before, and if the event had been presented in a different way the negativity would be a lot less extreme.
TLDR: I love BO3 and CW and hope BO6 can blend as much stuff as possible so I can maximize my fun while continuing to follow the story and still play w my casual friends!! Fuck Vanguard and MWZ(at least IIIMP was enjoyable) they dont count (well, maybe MWZ cutscenes) so glad to finally get a CWZ sequel:))) also 3Arc confirmed DLC1 for end of the year so we will see very soon what direction this goes in)
I’m a bo3 stan but honestly I fell in love with Cold War as soon as I played it(CW stan as well hahaha). I replayed both BO3Z and CWZ today(mid Die Maschine intel hunt) and man I see why I love both versions
BO3 with the established lore, rolling the dice on what character you’ll play as, what dialogue you’ll hear and what perk you’ll get at the wunderfizz, the feeling of being trapped… I replayed Kino and man I’m for sure rusty, I played 1 match and only got 16 rounds in before dying but I still remembered exactly how to turn on power and pack a punch. The feeling of exploring these run down places while you’re chased by zombies, a prison guard, N6 crawlers, just all of it from the diff maps. I replayed SOE too and although I don’t remember some of the PAP steps I still have the general sense of where to look to grapple and I was content just hitting the box and vibing to the map. The tension and trying to really figure out what was going on
As I said I’m mid CW intel hunt so I’m really focused on getting power/pap(just 6 rounds w the accelerator) asap to hit the Trial Machine for the Intel and get the 3 drops before round 20. Because of that I’ve changed my strategy a bit from when I just play or grind camos, I only purchase Deadshot and staminup to maximize points and speed(iirc you can only get 3 intel from the TM). When I play co-op or just to play I’ll try to complete the WW steps or hit the trial machine and see if I can get a WW or a Fire Sale and I’ll try to play with whatever the box gives me for a round(since I know this game is more forgiving I can fuck around w anything), when I camo grind I do pap and jug and hunker down to farm points and salvage to get the most power and stay shielded. That’s not even getting into the side modes of Onslaught/OSContainment, Cranked 2, DOA3, and Outbreak/OB survival. Also having a new story with some elements we saw from the past is neat. I’m glad they’re not abandoning it like they did Chaos, I Want to see the characters get built up and I want to see what mistakes Treyarch can fix from their last universe. Also it was kinda neat to have the semi scientific/semi supernatural aspects again before Vanguard brought back demons lol
I understand people not liking CW and the changes it made but to act like there is no fun to be had is crazy. Half the fun I had w BO3/BO4 was playing w my hs friend trying to complete the pack a punch steps by memory and trying to do the EEs(and failing lmfao) and we played a bunch of CW too(it’s how I dragged him back into playing BO3/BO4 again), we tried to challenge each other to stupid stuff like we would on Nacht or the BOTD. I see some of the changes like things that just give me more options.
Obviously there’s things I dislike about each as well. SOE(my fave zombies map) gets annoying to replay sometimes, I feel like I always have to look up a guide and that gets more annoying as time goes on, I have a similar annoyance w the lore. It got too bloated, as fun as it is to meme about 8hr videos to explain the lore and trying to find ciphers 8 years later is nice but it’s dumb if it’s just a hint to the next map we got 7 years ago(save us hypercube) . In the opposite direction CW feels too easy sometimes, walking you thru the PAP steps with pop ups on the screen instead of the lighting tricks 3Arc did in the past but luckily I can jump from one to the other. It’ll be hard to placate everyone with BO6 but if they can try to keep that experience of hopping between styles in one game by having Terminus be the “tougher” map and having Liberty Falls be the Die Maschine/easy map (or SOE/TG for another comparison) then honestly I’d love that. Being able to turn off hud and then encouraging the race to the EE + 100%ing challenges seems great too
Everyone loves to complain, it makes them feel better or something
People are miserable and say they won’t buy it but we all know most of them will be playing on Day 1
Imagine you go to this pizza place for years and they always make your favorite food and suddenly they change it and for years they say it’ll be back this season but every season it’s different and clearly never the same and in many instances a distinct drop in quality…. Eventually you’re like well fuck that food and fuck the chef.
I agree the community can be overly negative a lot of the time, but this is NOT a case of unjustified negativity. Treyarch deserve all the backlash, what we’ve seen today just looks like shit. There’s nothing about this that resembles black ops zombies except for the raygun, what’s remaining of the perks and pack-a-punch, and the zombies themselves. Everything else is literally just warzone/multiplayer with zero character. The HUD is not a deal breaker but it’s the icing on the shit cake situation so I also understand.
The community is 100% in the right to be pissed off
My issue is it seems they didt listen fully, liberty falls is what is wrong with new zombies, has no atmosphere, feels like a MP map and is wide open it just looks boring, terminus looks alright but idk why they make these maps so boring bring some life and color. Again terminus im ok with liberty falls looks bad imo
I dont get it,
if bo4 changes were bad, cw/bo6 changes could be seen as equally bad
I see it like this: Bo3 was a big ass chocolate cake, bo4 attempted to be an even grander chocolate cake but lacked any consistency and finesse, still its a chocolate cake and if you give it a shot and ignore the weird aftertaste, you might still like it.
Cold war was a cream cake – now there is nothing wrong with cream cake, its tasty and inoffensive….but you were expecting another chocolate cake, right? Idk maybe bo6 ends up pretty amazing when dlc season is over.
I blame activision
Yeah I have no idea why people would complain about warzone zombies it’s so much fun, it definitely feels like classic zombies is back with the fortnite rarity and armor system with bland as fuck maps.
We are further now from BO3 then BO3 was from WAW. Black Ops 3 players really need to move on.
“don’t mess with us call of duty fans, we don’t like our own games” or something.
People with a platform will always complain about minor shit, like the UI, gameplay style or matchmaking all the time. SBMM is like a buzzword for these people. I personally like the look of everything black ops 6 has to offer, mainly because I haven’t played every other cod game since launch (I was playing other games, got into cod just before cold war dropped and even then only started playing with multiplayer around mw19/22) but also because its a change from $70 DLC DMZ-style zombies and multiplayer (low-key love MW3 multiplayer, campaign was straight ass though). Hope the game isn’t too laggy on launch.
