I watch a lot of zombies content and I apologize if this has been brought up before.
In the process of watching more content and someone covering this cutscene, I noticed as the smoke settles around the person appearing in the mirror, you can notice the top part of their silhouette before the camera shifts to a different angle. You can clearly see the person wearing a familiar shaped top hat.
I've been a zombies fan for years and of course, anyone can put on a hat. But this hat matches the Shadow Man's hat almost perfectly. I don't know of any characters especially with ties to the dark ether with a hat like that.

well the shadow man and monty were fused into one being and were sent to the dark aether so it is possible

I’m gonna be honest and people are gonna hate me, but I think Monty, Shadowman and the apothicans are never showing up again. At the end of MWZ these people are mentioned as Shadowsmiths I think the point of this cutscene was to introduce a completely new villain for cod 2025 and/or a plot point for bo6
It’s possible, but I don’t think its as definite as most people think, good chance it could just be someone in a cowboy hat and its referencing someone in the town itself, she does call it a one horse town

Probably a *Shadowsmith.* I doubt the Shadowman survived the destruction of the Summoning Key.
