When I was a kiddo, parents got my sister Barbie Horse Adventures on the original Xbox, but I was the one who ended up playing it more as my sister wasn’t into gaming at the time, still in her doll phase. I really enjoyed that game, and I was never embarassed about it because I never really bought into the whole “If you do this thing you’re not manly” machismo shtick after that, as I valued enjoyment far more than trying to project masculinity to others. I’ve got nothing to prove. Nowadays that manifested in me only getting tasty fruity cocktails rather than forcing myself to drink pisswater beer like a bunch of other dudes did. Long island iced tea is an S tier.
So don’t be embarrassed. The only people who would judge it as embarassing for a man to play a game like that are men who are themselves insecure in their own masculinity and feel the need to actively project it and avoid all things they deem feminine, or someone who believes that because the men in their lives all acted that way and they just don’t know any better because of it.
