Gamescom 2024, in Cologne, Germany is happening this week (and I'll be there to check it out) and it's probably the biggest Europe-held tech and gaming event. Lots of devs and hardware industry partners showing off their latest. Here is the NVIDIA side of Gamescom:
- Main article: ACE Digital Humans Showcased In Mecha BREAK, 20 New RTX Games Announced, G-SYNC, Star Wars Outlaws
- Black Myth: Wukong launched with full ray tracing and DLSS 3; We're actually giving away 5 game codes and an exclusive Wukong GPU Backplate. Be fast, though, as you only have about 12 hours to enter: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1et27fi/black_myth_wukong_giveaway_win_5_game_codes_and_a/
- NVIDIA is working with MediaTek to bring G-Sync to more displays. This eliminates the need for a separate G-SYNC module, streamlining the production process and reducing costs. They're highlighting this collaboration with G-SYNC Pulsar. They say this tech can offer 4x the effective motion clarity with tear-free variable refresh rate (VRR), and is set to debut on newly announced monitors, including the ASUS ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQNR, Acer Predator XB273U F5 and AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2. All 1440p, 360hz and HDR compliant.
- NVIDIA ACE Digital Human Technologies Showcased In First Game, Mecha BREAKWe've been following ACE for a while now, but it's finally ready for proper action. Mecha BREAK will showcase this "digital human" on-device small language model, possibly improving conversation for game characters.
