Huge gain from Ryzen cpus when using latest unreleased windows 24H2 build. How has zen4 been under performing so much for so long?
The new version of windows boosts both Zen 4 and Zen 5 cpus. This is just a free 10%(@1080p) improvement to old Zen 4 cpu.
Benchmarks by Hardware Unboxed : AMD Ryzen 7 9700X vs. 7700X: 40+ Game Benchmark [23H2 vs. 24H2]
AMD says no performance improvement will happen on intel cpus . The benchmarks by Hardware Unboxed confirm this except for one outlier game.
In their testing, no game out of the 40+ so a performance regression and no game did not improve.

That moment when AMD runs their development on a special install windows admin account for years 😀
What about on the 1440p resolution? And zen 4 is not an “old” cpu
wow
I want to know if this will improve gaming performance for other gens as well, maybe I should download it
Any rumours about single ccd x3d improvements?
Jesus Christ, I think we basically need new reviews of like 40 CPUs now.
Will linux get a similar boost?
Oh bugger. Am I actually going to have to get Windows 11 now?
There a comparison vs win10 somewhere?
I saw it’s unbelievable uplift from a windows update it means windows have been holding them back for years . Even zen 4 had an uplift
>”Zen 5″ will see the biggest boost, but this Windows update will improve performance for “Zen 4” and “Zen 3” as well. We’re collaborating with Microsoft to roll out this ***optional update*** to all Windows 11 users soon.
My 5800x3D and 5900HS are very pleased.
Optional?! bruv.
Meanwhile userbenchmark:

is this going to work on windows 10
Patiently waiting for 5800x3D gains.
People are talking about how zen 4 has had this hidden performance for two years, but now about zen 3 cpus that launched all the way back in 2020?
Wtf…. How does windows have so much influence over cpu performance
10%!!! Thats basicly a free generation upgrade lol
You guys are on Windows 11? Did it ever get better than 10?
Are Windows 10 users affected by this bug as well?
Hardware unboxed briefly mentioned Zen 3 as well has anyone tried 24h2 or know of a reviewer who has?
If you came here wondering about your Zen 3: yes, there are performance benefits in 24H2 for you, too. I see 5-20% increase in 24H2 with my 5950X.
Don’t go racing to insider builds thinking you won’t have any problems, though. Just last week, Fortnite would constantly crash because of an antivirus definition update. Sure, MS fixed it within 24 hours, but that’s the whole point of some of us running development branches of Windows. 🙂
Damn, I might have a reason to move to Windows 11 now…
I reallllly need to see all the numbers first though. Unfortuantly that means basically every Zen 3, 4, and 5 CPU are going to need to be re-tested, along with Intel parts just in-case.
So Microsoft ungimped Windows 11 compared to Windows 10 which works as it should?
Intel “please no, I’m Tired boss”
Jokes aside does this apply to the 7800X3D? If so that’s freaking crazy
Wow.
Okay, AMD did actually deliver. As in, they weren’t bullshitting the reviewers, something really was up.
What a refreshing change from Intel’s gaslighting.
