This is the same sort of take of people who say “why did you get an art degree, there is no such job that you can get with that” who don’t realize we would have nothing without artists. Architecture beyond a box? Art. Fancy logos and even fonts? Art. Tv shows, music, video games? All require artists.

We literally have people like Cameron Monaghan being modelled in those star wars games with their likeness, voice and movements. Tons of games nowadays need to motion capture movements and use professional voice actors to convey their stories. What is this bozo on about?
I’m not surprised that a suit at one of the biggest failures of dev studios on the planet doesn’t understand that there are voice actors and actors hired for mocap. What an idiot.
As a working Animator, I’ll tell you now that a huge amount of effort goes into choosing our mocap actors and building relationships with them
I can also tell you that the costs add up quick. Paying for flights and lodging, insurance (especially for actors performing stunts), reshoots, etc. The C-Suite would be ecstatic if that wasn’t a thing anymore, and once AI is capable of generating [usable] animation data based on a pre-existing data set, you better believe they’ll start tanking our budget for actors.
