How is this score for 4070 Super and 7800x3d? How can I increase it without Overclocking. XMP in enabled, nvidia control panel setting is on prefer max performance and power plan is also high performance.
*Without* overclocking? I think you may have chosen the wrong sub to ask that.
Regardless, de-bloating Windows with a combination of manually stripping out things that run in the background but that you don’t use and something like [O&O Shutup](https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10). Just be careful that you don’t remove something that you actually need. Things like monitoring/control software, RGB software, game launchers/anti-cheats that run at startup, and the like all consume CPU cycles in the background when they are running. If you don’t need them all the time, don’t let them run at startup, and shut them down after you don’t need them anymore.
Your score is pretty close to average, so it would stand to reason that you don’t have a huge amount of improvement to get without overclocking, but if you are really committed to not spending the half hour it takes to get a reasonable GPU overclock and would rather spend hours/days figuring out how to improve the OS itself, that’s your choice.
[Edit to add] – If you *do* want to take the relatively trivial and safe step of overclocking the GPU, here’s how.
– Install [MSI Afterburner](https://www.msi.com/Landing/afterburner/graphics-cards).
– Start Afterburner and run something that will stress the GPU, but in windowed mode. It can be a game, a benchmark, whatever, but it’s easier if it will keep running or loop indefinitely until you stop it. If you use ray tracing, it’s best to test with something that has ray tracing because that uses a different part of the GPU core and may not take as much of an overclock.
– Bump the core clock up by 15MHz and hit apply, then repeat this until you get artifacts or crashes. Dial it back by 15MHz from that point and run the load again for a few minutes to ensure it’s stable.
– For memory clock, you can repeat the same process, but in steps of 100, but testing the stability is harder because you need actually run a benchmark to see when memory starts to fail. The memory has built in error correction so it won’t noticeably fail until you are are pretty far over the line. Instead, you will get performance degradation without visible errors once the memory starts to reach its limits. For simplicity’s sake, I’d recommend just a +700 there and not spending any more time than that on it. That is a relatively small overclock and will almost certainly work without issue. Don’t forget to hit apply.
– Save your work! Click the little [floppy disk](https://2.bp.blogspot.com/_uMNcxPW2Gs4/S92iTOTOpjI/AAAAAAAAAT0/5bn2vcqcF1U/s1600/floppy-disk-icon.jpg) icon at the bottom of Afterburner and click one of the numbers on the right side to save the settings as a profile.
Bonus Step: Undervolting. If you want to keep things cool, you can open up the “Curve Editor” (bottom left) and click the point that gives you 2,505MHz, then Shift-Click and drag your mouse to the right to select that point and every point after it. Once they are selected, hold shift again and hit “Enter” two times. This will flatten that curve after that point and prevent the card from going beyond that voltage. Hit apply and make sure it stays flat. If any points go up after you apply, just repeat the “Shift and Enter 2x” step and re-apply (it doesn’t work 100% of the time because of quirks in the GPU drivers, so you have to repeat it).
