I loved Kid Pix! I remember very little about it but as a graphic designer now, I can trace it all back to this program.

Sound effects that will be in my brain forever.

Spent so much time on this as a kid.

That name sounds so wrong nowadays.

“Do you have KidPix on your computer?”

“What the fuck? No, I’m not a pedophile”

Definitely one of the more inspiring games I played as a kid. I actually found a sweatshirt at a gas station in California a few years ago that used the “surfs up dude” guy clip art as their logo. Obviously I bought the sweatshirt but no one I’ve talked to understands the reference

Kid Pix Studio was my jam. My friend and I used to crack each other up writing and recording skits with the virtual puppets.

Holy fuck. Memory unlocked. I have to rethink my entire existence now

yeah. I remember that whole Maxis Kids CD too. There would be 5 minute demos of a lot of games, many of which I never got to play fully as a kid. You could buy games directly, and I think they would ship them out on a CD.

I’ll always remember the “I made a boo boo oh yeah” undo sound.

Never had this, but I had Fine Artist.

I never heard of this, but the cover definitely looks like it would have been around when I was a kid.

This and the incredible machine were like 95% of how I used computers as a kid

I don’t remember this but thanks for reminding me how creepy I found the nfb logo.

Yeah this was the program with the painting tool and weird sound effects right? I loved the candy tool, that one was the best.

I tried playing it but instead of looking at pictures of children it was a drawing program or something, now that’s false advertising!

  16. Sleeping next to it. Still have it in my shelf.
