Best rank last season was plat 3, and only touched it a couple of times before being dragged back down. After the new season dropped, I was determined to work my way up and push my limits. I have played casually for a long time, but rarely tried ranked play. I grew up playing bo1 etc and have only missed a few titles through the lineup, but I just tried warzone last year.

Icing on the cake for me was in the final circle when I was able to clutch the dub against 2 teams after my teammates had already died. I smoked a buy, got the boys back, then finished the remaining enemies off before my teammates had even dropped. This resulted in a victory worth 180 sr!

Coming from a multi-player and zombies background, the dynamic was much different that what I was used to. I'll admit that I struggled with the gameplay at first, but whenever I had free time, I would grind here and there. Recently, I have been fortunate enough to have several hours per day to play, and I was able to refine my skills a bit. I am obviously not a pro, and it probably would not have been that difficult to reach diamond with a good team, BUT as a solo player with a busy life, I am so proud of myself for sticking with it through all of the horrible lobbies of cheaters and sweats, while I was pulling random teammates every single time. More than half the ranked matches I played, my teammates had no mic, no common sense, and would push alone.

Thanks for letting me share my experience here, and I hope that this post inspires others to follow their dreams like I did. AGAIN I am not claiming to be a great player or anything, just happy that I was able to complete a difficult personal goal!

I will be pushing toward crim, but I feel like I've already made it to the "half decent" mark.

I'd love to hear about your experiences and ambitions with ranked. Do any of you feel my pain? Maybe some have made it to the big league and have wisdom to share with us?

Thanks so much to anyone who read my long post, and I wish you the best at all skill levels. I know there are a lot of toxic players, but this game truly brings people together at the end of the day.

    Congrats!

Now if I were you, I’d stop playing Ranked until next season and your rank drops again. There is nothing but pain ahead of you, especially if you’re solo queuing. Your lobbies will now be filled with Crim, Iri and Top250 teams, including a much higher rate of cheaters than before. It’s a pretty miserable experience unless you’re also part of a very good team.

I also got to Diamond I solo queuing. There’s a reason I no longer play Ranked 😂
