Watch Dogs, BF2042, Halo Infinite, Halo 5, Cyberpunk 2077

  2. Blacksad9999

The original Watchdogs comes to mind.

Trailers are never a good representation of how a game will be though.

Forspoken. Had to Google “biggest flop video game” to find it, nobody remember this awful game, yet everyone has seen the awesome trailer

  4. I’ll take it all the way back to Killzone 2. Grandfather of the “target gameplay experience” aka: fake-ass game trailor.

  5. sunset_atreyu

Dead Island! the trailer was very emotional.

  6. Carter895

The disparity of Aliens: Colonial Marines led to a lawsuit for that bait and switch.

  7. Kerbal Space Program 2. Just one big list of broken promises.

Im too fixated on the pizza…that would piss me off big time.

  9. Even when you see ‘gameplay’ in a trailer it’s not actually a recording of the game being played. Rather game assets being used to create the video that is more dramatic (and better looking) than what you’re likely to actually get.

Brothers in Arms hells highway e3 gameplay in 2006 vs full releade..

The day before. The game was so bad the entire studio shut down 4 days after release

Ever game that isn’t free they make you pay because of it was free you would never play it again you only play it because you spend 50 bucks on it and want to at least a months worth of gaming out of it

WatchDogs and Fallout 4 were both the reasons I’ll never pre order games again. WatchDogs was nothing like we expected IMO and Fallout 4 was fun but really nothing new or ground breaking.

  14. Longjumping-Hunt-543

the day before if we count it as a game

  15. Psychological_Air_40

I want to say Dead Island but honestly the game was fun as fuck, just tonally entirely different from how the trailer made it out to be.

  16. Low-Self2513

Anthem! Man I was this close to preorder.

Not a PC game, but this picture reminds me of Rogue Galaxy (PS2). Good graphics, interesting gameplay, unique setting, quality voice cast. Then after the first major area the interesting gameplay devolves into grindy repetitive dungeons and the story turns into such blando hackjob anime trash no actor can save it.

Rogue Galaxy: in like the thu’um, out like a wet fart.

    FO76.

I’m not going to talk about the initial release,I don’t need to dredge up that aggro. But now? It’s not world-changing, but it *is* fun and hardly ever crashes, mostly.

  19. Planet-Funeralopolis

No man’s sky will always be the top of that list as a reminder that some developers do actually care, game is fantastic now.

  20. Shiro-derable

Cyberpunk and starfield at launch are the easiest answers

  21. thatlightningjack

No Man’s Sky (2016 launch. Today it’s a very different, and a better game)

  22. NynaeveAlMeowra

Rome 2 Total War. The trailer was amazing and the game state upon release was atrocious

  23. Halatope

Human rescources, came in a time where planetary anihalation was at its Peak.

After the Trailer, never heard of it again.

  24. Darth_Murcielago

A lot of games actually. The earliest ones i can think of is sims 4 (actually it wouldn’t be a letdown if sims 3 didn’t exist) and the next one i can remember is fallout 76 (a lot of hype because it was the first muliplayer fallout game and the trailers looked promising but it was disappointing when it came out) and i could list a lot more games but there are too many nowerdays XD

  25. Uspresso235

Cyberpunk when it first came out. Great game now, but wasn’t in good shape back then

  26. I will by a bad pizza exactly once. If you think you can build a business model around a single sale ever, well…that’s…uh…certainly one path you can take.
