Might I recommend SMT strange journey? One of the best SMT games! And one of the few M rated DS games!
For those that don’t know, SMT is the series that persona was spun out of. Strange journey is one of the best dungeon crawlers I’ve played.

Man the DS is such a treasure trove of cool, experimental games. One of my favorite console generations! I loved Okamiden and I really felt like it was such a good sequel to Okami.
One of my favorite DS games is Infinite Space – visual novel/space fleet combat hybrid with a pretty wild branching story and great characters. Made by Platinum Games, oddly enough.
