It claims to be a “prototype”. Knowing how our Russian electronics business works, it would be a miracle if it even releases. If this thing has any government support/financing then it’s a corrupt scheme to steal some money. They’ll just release some cheap console made out of Chinese parts and call it a day

  2. Gregor_Arhely

Yeah… As a Russian, I guarantee that this thing is just a money laundering project, pretty much like many other government initiatives all around the world.

  3. Godess_Ilias

damn thats some old games , too bad all kids in russia are drafted into the military before 2028

  4. Worth-Wonder-7386

Based on the games I am guessing it is just a pc with a new ui over it to make it look like a console

  5. Sabbathius

Russian components, American components, they’re all made in Taiwan! lol

  6. TarislandEnjoyer

NGL that’s a pretty solid line up for a broke gamer.

*Peers at the “S.T.A.L.K.E.R.” title, knowing where the developer, GSC Game World, is based.*

Ah yes, I can’t wait to play my 16+ year old games in just 4 more years

Arx Fatalis, Prey, AND Stalker? Sign me up!

  10. In_Spectrum

Oh wow, 20+ years old games. This elbrus cpu is a beast.

  11. Skytriqqer

Ah yes, STALKER. Does glorious Putin know what country that game comes from?

  12. fluff_society

Doesn’t Elbrus have their own CPU architecture? (Edit: wow yes and it’s VLIW even!) If the games have to be run in emulation, then it makes sense that only older games can run smoothly

  13. Super Tux Kart? Minetest?!

This is just a Steam Box, isn’t it?

  14. roto_disc

To be fair, most of those games are bangers.

Super Tux Kart? MineTest? This is just a Linux PC right?

  16. OldAbbreviations1590

So it’s a PC arcade emulator like the ones used in modern arcade machines. Neat.

  17. CaptainPrower

Ah yes, the Russian staples – CSS, Enlisted, and War Thunder.

STALKER is a surprising inclusion, though – isn’t that franchise made in Ukraine?

  18. marto17890

Wow when this comes out I will be able to play Morrowind and Stalker – I will be young again, mwahahha

  19. ricokong

I can read just enough to understand it’s both a prototype game console and a mini PC. Well it sure looks like it.

EDIT: Will it ship with pirated games?

  20. TheChadSalad

The amount of amazing ID titles they packin

  21. Games make sense since this is based on the Elbrus-2C3. Some ancient Russian microprocessor with 2 whole cores and 4mb L2 cache

Holy shit this thing can handle morrowind?

  24. SilentHunter7

Ah, featuring modern hit titles like…Doom 3 and GTA Vice City.

I guess when Putin said he wants it to compete with the Xbox, the engineers took that to mean the OG Xbox.
