Guess who just acquired a 5000rpm industrial fan. Now I can have record low GPU temps while instilling fear into the very hearts of everyone in my home.
Clean her first before you throw dust at your GPU at Super Sonic speeds..

I bought one of those a few years back. The novelty of playing with it and testing it wore off quickly. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner and the difference in temps isn’t worth it, not to mention the threat it poses to pets, fingers, cables, and maybe even components due to the force of air it can apply.
If a pet leans up next to an intake and some hair gets caught in the fan, it wont be a gentle tug, then stop like a normal fan. It’ll rip their hair out or tear part of their flesh off. This is really not suited for home use.

Anyone have the OG finger killer Ultra Kazes? 3000rpm, metal 120mm fans that chugged the air, sounded like a vacuum cleaner and could chop a finger off, but also got you very low temps!
For the sake of instilling more fear into the very hearts of everyone in your home, I think you need 2 more.

Those Delta fans in the 90s were like this. Insanely fast and insanely loud
Reaper_456
Ahh memories of server fans in a small case.

Under no circumstances attempt to power this thing from the motherboard

While this sounds like a fun thing to do, the reality is that I already have fans that I cap at 70% of their theoretical maximum output because beyond that it sounds like there’s a commuter plane struggling to take off on my desk. And yes, it results in extra cooling, but realistically, the difference between running at 55C and 48C under load (these fans are on a 360mm AIO) is kind of irrelevant and just not worth it.
This being an industrial fan that appears to have already had a career in industrial uses, it will likely sound awful all the time no matter what speed it runs at. Noise output is generally not a design consideration for the intended applications of a fan like this. Also, make sure it doesn’t draw more power than the motherboard is able to supply.

Kinda like those Vantec Tornado 80mm fans back in the day. Super high speeds, great CFM, but loud af.

On the plus side, very low temps. On the down side, I can’t imagine you’re going to be able to use it to its full extent without clearly hearing the noise. Maybe less if you have NC headphones, but still.
Also make sure you still have more total intake as you’ll otherwise have a negative air pressure inside your case that will suck in dust from outside the case.

I have a small one like this too. if i put it on the table it’ll hover. crazy loud or i would use it.

Double the voltage. The fanblade ends might go back in time.

I like using jet engine fans to cool my pc

It’s probably gonna sound like vRoOoOm

for Some reason your post made me want a 10k rpm fan

Maybe chain your PC to the ground beforehand?

Most heavy duty industial fans tempt to run on AC not DC.
Just saying.

is that a PFC1212DE with a broken bottom?
At what RPM does a fan become a turbine?
try cutting your fingernails with it
