This is for information I guess. My RMA'd replacement arrived today in a flimsy box (compared to the original futuristic metal disk circular box) and on the front of the box – printed on the box itself rather than a sticker is the statement "Discrete Graphics Required" …. which is nonsense of course as it has integrated graphics. Anyway, I've checked with Intel before opening the box and it sounds as if the person I spoke to had never heard of this issue before. I find that hard to believe but there you go. I'm been told in writing that the box labelling is wrong and that it does indeed have integrated graphics – which I knew anyway but after the whole RMA issue, I'm allowed to be suspicious. Thought I'd share but maybe you all know this already?

  1. Those boxes are the ones the KF lineup (without iGPU) is packaged in. It looks like they just put a K chip in a box normally used for KF.

Nothing here looks suspicious IMO. Probably saves them a buck not including the silver wafer.
