Just want to take a moment to salute this optional feature in Steamworld Heist 2

Press and hold is a cancer upon UIs in gaming. If people out there prefer it, than I’m happy it’s there for you, but IMO all games should have this as an option to turn it off.

I gotta be honest I’m an idiot that prefers the hold. But it’s a nice feature have regardless.

God I wish every game had this! I’m so tired of accidently pressing the button instead of holding thinking the game’s not working

Eh, I prefer having the hold option. There are a lot of games where I’ll accidentally hit a button that I didn’t want and a hold would have saved me.

I agree it should be an option though outside of games that use it contextually to add more buttons to the scheme.

  5. Yeah, just straight up fuck press and holds. I don’t even want the option to turn it off or on. it just shouldn’t exist at all.

havent played this. whats the context here? cause im assuming its a QTE. and im of the opinion that QTE’s shouldnt exist, full stop.

Most hold prompts are so dumb. They add “immersion” and you feel connected to the world. Breaks immersion when it starts to be annoying AF. Let me tap on things, I do not have all day.

I’d be okay with a hold feature if I didn’t have to hold the button for 3 business days.

I can’t overstate how grateful I am to know thanks to this post that steamworld heist 2 is even a thing

This is an accessibility option under many games..
Noticed Sony had this options on their games for a while..
