I really don’t like how the augment screen is just a black void for some reason. But they might just have it like that rn so we can’t see any menu stuff

Augments are basically the new equivalent of the Aetherium crystals reinventing the tier upgrade system in Cold War. Difference being you have to make tough sacrifices and choices, which means better variation in gameplay for specific builds. Might synergize pretty well using gobble gums stacking them together.

Wasn’t a fan hearing the permanent upgrades from CW were being replaced, but this does look pretty cool. And more are getting added, apparently, and Dying Wish is a Juggernog Augment according to Pizza and Dalek.

Surely there will be a background image with this during the full launch of the game. I think this is a good compromise between the absurdly powerful upgrades in cold war and traditional zombies. It’s similar to the ww2 system (which honestly had some incredible features that other devs should have copied long ago but oh well)

Man I love it. Seeing how different energy mine will feel depending on which major augment you select is exactly what I was hoping for and honestly the kind of innovation this game mode needs.
The ideas of skill trees modifying the base skill and build crafting to slaughter enemies in different ways aren’t new, but they are for this game.
If they support this feature well enough, it could turn into a seriously popular ARPG-style build crafting game. More perks, field upgrades and ammo mods, more augments to existing trees. Really build that shit up.
Lets people be creative.
3 energy mines in the same lobby can function completely differently. Ones a turret, one orbits a player, and ones a scatter mine. Multiply that by all the different field upgrade options, ammo mods, and all 8 perks you can get in a match. Can’t wait.
A meta will emerge for sure, but that allows Treyarch to adjust balancing on those things to encourage a shifting meta over time.

Now hear me out, imagine doing an easter eggs allows you to pick one perk/consumable to have TWO slots instead of one, capping at like 4 unlocks, and then when new map releases and you do the egg4 times you can hnlock 4 more slots
