I remember reading an article about this back in the day… if I remember correctly, they were trying to get a bigger name Hollywood star, but one the staff said they were way too expensive for the budget at the time. Still, Leon the Professional was a well regarded movie in Japan, so they made do.

That was the only game in the series I have played. I beat it 3-4 times.
I still don’t understand why they paid for him and then didn’t have him do his own English VA.

I guess they were testing the waters with the Onimusha 1 re-release on the PC. Didn’t make billions like they hoped, so they scrapped the entire series.
