I rarely scream from jumpscares and I don’t remember doing so playing the first game, but this one got me screaming a few times and I’m only at Chapter 4. I love it!

My favorite of the series; I’ve replayed through it at least 4 times ( and that was on the 360).

I love the environments, and how you move through different “pockets”: apartments, school, church, hospital, etc.

    Atmospheric and creepy af.

Huh, generally speaking Dead Space 2 is seen as less scary than 1.

Thanks for reminding me that EA won’t remake DS2 because the first game’s remake sold bElOw ExPeCtAtIoNs

Y’know when my dad signed me up for the boyscouts as a kid, i didn’t know what to expect…

This is one of my favorite games of all time, and I’ve been gaming since Atari 2600. Brilliant story and the overall design is incredible.

Intense? Then don’t play it if it’s too much for you. Maybe play something for kids like Lego Star Wars if you fail to be Hardcore

Dead Space 2 is to this day my favorite example what A+ pacing in video games looks like

What a coincidence I just finished my second playthrough of DS2 this morning. It’s an absolute classic and holds up really well. The storytelling, atmosphere, and combat systems are all incredibly well done and work together seamlessly. Probably my favorite of the RE4 style over shoulder camera horror action shooters until the RE4 remake dropped.

I still prefer 1 over 2. I just replayed both over the last few days, and there were multiple times in 2 where I died solely because a massive swarm of enemies just stun locked me into a corner. Completely sucked all the tension out of the game.

Personally found the first game to be better at atmosphere, tension and internal fear than DS2 myself. 2 had good horror moments but never scared myself. Still a damn good game though.

Dead Space 1 and 2 were amazing because they were happening on derelict space ship and derelict space station. Dead Space 3 was alright, but because of it happening on planet’s surface, it wasn’t all that mysterious, even the structures didn’t quite capture it. And checkpoints were horrendous that ruined the experience really badly.

This scene with mutant children was pretty disturbing in that kindergarten area. Especially all the distant laughing of the mutant children…

I can’t wait until they remake dead space 2 like they did the first.

I recently played dead space 1 remastered, I completed it as a kid. While playing the remastered, I was constantly asking myself why the hell am I still playing this 😅

Was a great game. Shame dead space remake didn’t sell better. Pretty sure they said they’re shelving the IP.

Superb game. Top3of all time. That’s some praise.

Because I recently played through it for the first time here is an ESSENTIAL advice for any other first time players on PC. Turn off the in-game V-sync it limits you to 30 fps. I spent the first 2 hours of the game freaking out because the game just wasnt working properly it took me way too long to figure this out. It’s a fantastic game though highly recommend

Am I the only person that didn’t find the series to be very scary at all? I mean, I think I can count the amount of times I was actually successfully jumpscared throughout the entire trilogy on one hand. 1 was definitely the most tense. 2 was kinda tense at some moments. 3 wasn’t scary at all. You kinda learn what to look out for after the first 1-2 scares. If it’s too quiet, something bad is going to happen VERY soon. Also, aiming and backing up after activating a door negates the majority of most scares.
