The extra detail on your chair description speaks for itself. New chair
Revolutionary_Pack54
Here is what I would do. First I would purchase:
* Two extremely cheap VESA monitor mount
* Any second monitor you can get for free or cheap locally (<$50)
* A couple giant rolls of black duct tape
* Some kind of dresser / nightstand you can get for free locally (or maybe $10)
* Black house paint (basically the cheapest bulk black paint you can get)
* String lights (you can usually get used Christmas lights for free or stupid cheap)
* Cardboard (as much as you can get for free)
* Silver cabinet hardware (as needed depending on what side table / dresser / nightstand you get)
* The dirt-cheapest gaming chair you can get, used or new (if the bottom is torn but you can get it for free or stupid cheap, go for it)
Then it’s time to perform the cheap upgrades. Firstly, the desk:
1. Take everything off the desk
2. Remove all the duct tape
3. Perform whatever repairs the silver duct tape is currently doing, but this time with the black duct tape
4. Cover the entire top of the desk with black strips of duct tape, taking care to be as even as possible. Cut the excess to line up with the edge of the desk
5. Mount the VESA monitor mounts
6. Using cardboard and the black duct tape, fabricate a back panel for the desk to allow you to hide all your cables away. I recommend letting it hinge from the underside of the desk so you can get back there if needed. Cover the remaining exposed cardboard in the black duct tape.
7. Using the aforementioned materials, shape your desk front surface and embed your string lights to make a cool glowing effect (what lights you get will dictate what you can do. Get creative!)
Next, that PC needs a bettet place to be:
1. Spray paint the nightstand / side table / etc. black.
2. Change the hardware to something more modern (usually inexpensive silver bits at Home Depot or Lowe’s)
Now for the setup:
1. Set up the table and mount the monitors to the VESA mounts.
2. Put the table next to it. PC on top of it (at an angle to look cooler).
3. Place your mouse mat and peripherals on the desk.
4. Repair your chair cushion, if needed, by simply covering the whole thing in black duct tape.
Hopefully this gives you an idea how, for hopefully far less than $200, you can totally transform your setup. Heck, if you’re in Los Angeles I can make that happen for free 🙂
