
I was really excited from the Terminus gameplay we got yesterday. I think it’s a really cool mechanic that we can obtain a mangler arm cannon temporarily after killing them. But this image concerns me.
This promotional image seems to be from the other map at launch, “Liberty Falls.” But WHAT is a mangler doing there??
What made the older games special was map variety. Not just in aesthetics, but in the utilities and bosses that were present. It looks like BO6 is following CW’s direction of having all weapons and utilities (aside from the main wonder weapon) available on every map. I really hope they don’t keep the bosses the same too.
In WaW-BO4, every map felt distinct. If we have the same equipment and bosses on each map, what will make maps feel different on BO6?
It disappoints me that BOTH maps on launch have the same bosses. Hopefully there are other factors that change things up throughout the game’s lifecycle.

i agree with this point. i would actually prefer if the mangler upgrade was ONLY available after picking up his arm and not purchasable from the crafting table. feels more authentic and hidden. makes it special
I think its a bit different this time, since both maps obviously feel conpletely different. Terminus literally has a boat that you can drive around, that sets it pretty far apart
Ever since Firebase, they’ve had a philosophy of MANGLERS FIT EVERY LOCATION NO MATTER WHAT. Even in Vanguard. All they did was rename them and replace their arm cannons with detachable turrets from Halo
I don’t think we will have the same bosses everywhere. Yeah they’ll recycle some bosses, but I still believe some enemies like the spiders on Terminus will be exclusive to the map.
Manglers have never been classified as “bosses”. At best they’re a heavy type, but they are the most fitting mid-tier enemy to jam in every map.
Also where was this argument when the Blightfather was in all Chaos maps except DOTN?
I think there are classic minibosses that fit all maps, instead others that must be original for a single map. Although I loved the fact that in Cold War you can play against all the bosses of the game, this makes the maps lose uniqueness. I hope they will manage to do this better, maybe with a separate mode as carnage on Cold War…
This is to me what separates good maps from great or goats map.
