[COD Updates] To combat boosting and stream sniping, RICOCHET Anti-Cheat is deploying updates targeting lobby scraping apps. Call of Duty will shut down for players with these apps active.

Does the average player care about stream sniping? I mean. Come on.

Who the fuck cares about stream sniping. What a useless update

One of the few tools to combat actual cheaters. This is unbelievable. They will do anything except have a working anti-cheat.

Lmao weak ass anti cheat and all they care about is boosting.

Right. Believe it when I see it.

This wasn’t just used for stream sniping btw. This was also used heavily by high skill players to avoid higher KD lobbies. It was super useful for things like nukes, farming the 5 wins for nukes, dropping PRs in bot lobbies, etc. If a lobby kd was too high, you could just back out. A discord acquaintance use it a few times while playing with us. It’s pretty sus tbh, and it being now banned is 100% deserved and I’m glad they took action on it.
WZ agent would show everyone in the lobby, you could sort them by recent KD, it would show who’s on their team as well. Which, if you’re a good team, will let you know immediately who you need to try and focus on in a lobby (assuming you recognize them when one of you kills each other).
Learned some cool stuff from watching them stream the agent window in discord tho. Bot lobbies were like .9 kd and lower. Most of our high sbmm lobbies were 1.2 – 1.4, occasionally you’d get something up to 1.6, with an outlier or 1.8. We also learned that at a 3.0 kd you are almost always top 5 in the lobby, a 4.0 was basically always #1 or #2 kd in the lobby. Most lobbies would have a max 3 or 4 players with +3kds (that is counting me and my buddy). It was not uncommon for those 1.4 kd lobbies to have quite a lot of people between 2 and 3 kd.
East coast lobbies are also significantly sweater than other US regions.

I clearly remember they banned WZ Agent, Overwolf and various other player lobby apps years ago, like in 2021. The game would not start with those running (or even installed and not running).
Had no clue they somehow got re-enabled in MW3. Compared to all the other seemingly permanent issues (including Ricochet vs blatant cheaters), this seems super low priority. Literally who cares? It was actually useful to have a record of what kind of lobbies you are in, but they disabled both API access and these apps. Now there’s no way to know if you were in a lobby with a 40 kill rage hacker unless you spectate them.

Will this apply also for top streamers who actively screen their lobbies for their nuke gameplays or are they whitelisted again?

If it doesn’t fight aimbotters and wallhackers, I couldn’t care less.
