I think there’s a strong case for Ancient Evil being in this list – supremely good map, even with all the BO4 fluff that drags it down.

Yes and it will, first of all, I wouldn’t consider what we’ve had a dry spell. We’ve had some serious fun to be had since bo3, the community seriously needs to give the newer games some credit, we’ve had major game stability issues since bo3 so it’s not right to pretend it’s a new issue. We’ve had incredibly innovative gameplay changes in post bo3 zombies that were very well received. If we had a set crew and story development in Cold War, y’all would have loved it. That’s what we needed and it’s exactly what we are going to get in black ops 6. For god sakes look at that fucking cutscene for terminus, it was perfect.

Personally, I think Mauer is banger of a map for CW. Sunk many, many hours just doing high rounds on that map and maxing out season challenges and getting mastery camos

But seriously tho, both of those maps are contenders for best maps ever made. Great layout, great wonder weapons, great atmosphere and great quests.

It really does seem like BO6 is the fully realized vision of what Treyarch wanted to do with Cold War (as far as I can tell)
I can only imagine how much better CW would have been if the development wasn’t a mess; all things considered it still turned out quite good

I feel like I’m the only one not excited for bo6, its literally just cold war part 2 and cold war was alright at best. I’ve beat most easter eggs from waw to bo3 and I want to be optimistic about the new zombies but I’m just not, wish I was but I can’t be

I haven’t played zombies in years, I think blops 4 I played a little bit of, was that tranzit?
I just started MW3 since it hit gamepass, and it just doesn’t really feel like zombies. Mostly because I’m solo, but also it’s just sort of pointless challenges so far (mid act 2) with little actual story that I’m getting.
This looks like a big bonus for me, it going back to the treyarch model. But, it also looks like it’s using some of the same stuff as MW3 (whether it’s for continuity or to simplify dev process, I’m not saying it’s bad) so I’m wondering how ‘fresh’ it will feel. Either way, I’m excited to play again.

I’m sorry but Cold War was absolute garbage in terms of everything that was added to that game. And I was hyped for BO6 but now idk. I don’t understand why people liked CW.
There were so many flaws with that zombies game and not many pros such as zombies dropping loot, a terrible HUD, choosing a class at the start, operators, weapon rarities, health bars, armor system, score streaks, etc. Like why add all that crap to the game? It takes away so much from the atmosphere and experience. Especially since these maps seem way better that Cold War’s.
It’s just sad that zombies may never go back to how it once was in BO1-BO4.

BO4 has multiple maps this caliber, namely Ancient Evil, IX and Dead of Night, but since then nothing even close.
