I’m looking for suggestions on buying or building a pc

I have an old acer pc and monitor that can’t connect to wifi, and the hdmi ports are jammed. Me and my dad are wanting to get a better working one for gaming, but we’re not sure where to look. If anyone has any advice I’d love to hear it.
