I’m definitely not saying all non-gaming chairs are ugly. I’m just saying that switching from my fancy gaming chair to this boring, comparatively ugly Serta Sittrue Rayne was the best decision I’ve ever made. Even a cheaper yet “real” office chair has changed my life.

Most gaming chairs made to look like bucket seat of a car are not made to be ergonomic. They are made that way to make people buy them because they evoke … racing … gaming … so good. In reality office chairs are made for long periods of siting and are much better at that.

I’m thinking of replacing my gaming chair with an office chair too, because it’s no longer comfortable and I don’t think it’s worth buying another gaming chair.

I’ve got a Noble Chairs HeroTX (fabric) which is a nice in-between. Has great lumbar support and looks smart enough. I think Richard from Digital Foundry uses it too. Never have any back pain or the like when using it.

I love my Secret Labs gaming chair. It’s comfortable as fuck and my back is properly supported. Reclining all the way back when I’m tired watching YouTube is one of my favourite things to do.
Chairs probably work differently for different people, but I’ve never had issues with at least one chair each from some of the more reputable gaming chair brands (had a DXRacer before this and it was also great).

I use my dad’s old Aeron. The left armrest is wobbly, and I keep having to move it back into place, but other than that, it’s still a great chair.
It’s far better than the Ikea Millberget and the Inland gaming chair I had before it.

Ive had a leather office chair for at least 16 years, ive no idea how long my mother in law had it before that and its still outlived around 6 gaming chairs ive attempted to use over that time.
