It don’t really matter you can continue on current save or start fresh it doesn’t affect the main story

  2. Patrikkkak

If you play on new game it will be a lot harder and they will give you shity weapons etc… Play on your current finished save

  3. Sparkyfurry

Loved the game so much I restarted mine don’t regret it abit (am a early release player )

You can just continue; the Phantom Liberty is basically adding new quests for you so there is no need for a new game.

  5. If you don’t mind wasting another 60-70 hours to play from a fresh start then go for it for a full experience because there are some jobs/gigs that will help or be mentioned in the DLC, otherwise continue with your current save or press the skip to PL in the new game menu

  6. I played the expansion first then went for the 1st part lol. I enjoyed it. With your current save you are probably already OP so play it in hard.

Aurore romance is the best i swear.

I’d say start with a new save, but **not** the Phantom Liberty NG start. A lot of the gameplay rebalances feel a lot better when they’re fully part of your character progression. There were also some changes to attributes, and using your existing save will only give you a single reset to get the new attributes right, starting over will let you spec in as you go, and let you have that reset.

I’m honestly surprised so many people recommended to continue, I restarted when I got it

That depends, have you played since the 2.0 patch? Because it’s worth restarting completely fresh if you haven’t.

That is what I did. Fresh game to check out 2.0 then moved into Phantom Liberty.

New Game, since the story for the DLC can weave into the main plot and give you more stuff to do with your new gear

  11. I think the ultimate factor is whether you’ve done a full playthrough since 2.0 launched. If you have then just use your current save, if not then the main game is worth playing through again before doing the DLC.

Personally I’d recommend a new character since the dlc start right after you meet the VDB. I feel like it’d kill a lot of the tension going through the dlc with an end game build but if you’re just cruising for the story it really won’t make a difference.

  13. I replayed from the beginning and it was the right choice. They completely revamped the game from the ground up, it’s worth the replay from 0 to 100.

Your current save. Before Phantom Liberty released, I elected to do a whole new game from prologue onwards due to the impending changes from 1.6, and what a fun ride it’s been continuously.

Restart a new save! It’s a better experience overall. You need to be at least level 35 before starting PL. Do this especially if you haven’t played cyberpunk 2077 in a long time.

If your current playthrough is on patch 2.11 then use that if you played the game last year on patch 1.6 then start a new game

  17. Hrmerder

I’m holding out for the fall or winter sale

  18. taichlovesu

I did both, but storylines arent that mixed so doesnt matter much tho

  19. Dessy104

Completely your preference. Do you wanna walk through all the bosses or do you enjoy the struggle and grit that comes from trying to live in NC’s darkest corner

new game. this is best enjoyed as buffing up the midgame of the base game, it fills in a lot of the missing momentum needed to keep the whole game interesting. the way they weave it into the base game is also cool

I recently got back into cyberpunk and after all the updates I can’t even use my damn Cyberpsychosis hack anymore because I don’t have enough RAM smh
