And it was only $11 with free shipping. Game came out 11 years ago. Did they find a missing shipping container of them or something?

  1. I have no idea why you get free shipping for this, but the price is incredible for FFXIII and brand new.

I’ve seen people listing brand new 8 bit and 16 bit games for more money than modern consoles.

where from? I thought 360 is discontinued?

Square was selling PS1 games new on amazon and their store for a while. IDK if they’re still doing it but I think it was all the 16-bit Final Fantasy ports to PS1.

Because of backwards compatibility you can still play today

Because sometimes not all stock at the store sells out.

There is a reason they never sold through their entire stock of that game.

There are some games where the cases are worth more than the game itself.

    Maybe they’re collectors items now!

It’s actually not as weird as you think. Basically a certain amount of copies are shipped out to stores. Sometimes the store sells out completely and has to order more copies to get back in stock because of the hype of the game, and some people order digitally or go to different other stores that have it.

Around this time the stores want to turn a profit, stores like GameStop, they accept used copies of the game. Use copies are cheaper and they sell faster because of that. Around this time, most people buy used copies.

When the initial buzz of the game wears down, the new copies that stores order gets shipped to them. The stores are typically left with a ton of new copies that don’t sell. And because the game is now older, a lot of people just grab the used copies cause they’re cheaper.

Also, another thing is sometimes the game doesn’t sell as originally projected by the store. So there’s a lot of fresh unused copies that are just lying around. I think your game is in the category of the later. After the original hype of the first Final Fantasy 13 game, the sequels kind of fell off and didn’t get sold as much as square anticipated I believe.

Lastly, that company still wanting to turn a profit from the new game, just sells it at a much cheaper discounted price. Some sellers even create double listings for it as both new and used while it’s still new just to get the game off their hands and sell it faster for a profit.

my local walmarts had lightning returns for $3 for almost 5 years straight. pretty sure they never managed to sell them all

Specifically that game, I’m not surprised.

It makes sense the Xbox physical market is still thriving since, unlike Sony, Microsoft went nuts with backwards compatibility so basically all Xbox and beyond games work on the Series X/S. And many with enhancements to use the better hardware.

As for it being brand new… Dunno. Some less popular games are easy to find sealed. They probably did literally just have crates of them that eventually got sold at auction.
FF XIII is reviled. By the third game you couldn’t pay people to keep playing.

Even though it’s a great game, I got Castlevania Curse of Darkness sealed with a sealed guide for like $30 lol. Just cuz it’s kinda niche. What a steal.

I bought a brand new PS2 memory card a couple weeks ago for $10. Just gotta find the right shops.

  16. You can still buy brand new NES games in 2024. Why is XBox 360 so surprising?

  17. DODGE_WRENCH

seeing an unopened 360 game is hitting me with some real nostalgia
