
i've been having disappointing frame rates (especially THE FINALS) lately under stock settings using my ryzen 5 3600 and I have often contemplated upgrading to 5800x3d. But before I do, i might as well push this ~$60 CPU to it's entire limit, im not super concerned with it's lifetime as I'll probably be upgrading to AM5 within a year and okay with eating the cost if it's unsalable.
Also the 1.4V core voltage is from "Auto" setting (ASUS ROG STRIX B450I)
The question I have is: can i keep going past 4400? Im still posting and stress testing just fine, but I was wondering what this forum has to say.

1.4V at idle or 1.4V under load? 1.4V under load is already very, very high; most (I’ve seen) suggest not going over FIT limits (~1.20V-1.35V depending on silicon lottery and cooler) or risk degradation. I’d check what your FIT limits are first before pushing OC at all, and maybe see if you can get FCLK higher than 1800 (ram permitting) before bothering with much core OC. When I was researching OC for my 3600X I saw several posts on forums about potential degradation when running >1.30V for only a few months, so pushing so high or higher may not cause an “…eating the cost if it’s unsalable.” issue but instead require you to upgrade earlier than you may want since the chip just dies.
