AMD,INTEL- both cheaper, and have more VRAM. but most people don't touch them.

Edit: there is something people need to understand, there is a large chunk of people on this sub that if everything is equal, will always buy the most expensive card. this is not directed at them, they are a lost cause.
Edit 2: All the comments saying they will buy Nvidia 50XX is just sad, I mean, you don't even know what it is and you are already standing in line to buy it, cant be more pathetic.

I will continue to buy the top performing card because that is what matters to me. If that card at that time happens to be manufactured by AMD or Intel, then those corporations are getting my money at that time.

I’m not fussed about raytracing and I think dlss is nice but not essential for me.
Im always going to buy the best product for my use full stop.
If gaming was all I cared about then sure but I do use the NVIDIA stuff that comes with their cards.
So these billion dollar companies can’t be bothered to flesh out a decent piece of hardware with decent drivers and software before we give them more money??

I have no brand loyalty. I hate what everyone is offering currently.
I game at 1080p and the 7700XT I got on sale has been a total champ.
What is this post even about?
There are legitimate use cases for NVIDIA, though some people refuse to even consider AMD cards, which is stupid.
I think the main issue is pre-builts and laptops, as they make up the majority of GPU sales. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a modern pre-built or laptop that comes with an AMD GPU. (I’m not really looking out for them though.)
I will still be buying based on my needs, which probably means sticking with AMD for a while.
I got a 7800 XT. Its performance while streaming to Twitch was subpar and my favorite games which I regularly play and do challenge runs of (Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2) turned out to be straight up incompatible with 7000 series cards. The games just crash within minutes of playing them, if they start at all, and perform like shit before the crashes occur.
I returned it, got a 4070 Super instead and had no issues.
I’m all for supporting the underdog and against monopolies and I’m definitely no fan of Nvidia, but if the competition just doesn’t do what I need it to do, then I’m left with only Nvidia as an option.
I had AMD in the past. I didn’t like it. What do you propose? Buy stuff I don’t like?
I already have an AMD GPU and it’s fine. But they’re going to have to compete more if they want more people to switch.
I buy AMD, but I also check reviews and go for value so I am not loyal to one or the other.

Because AMD is trying to earn as much money as possible and only slightly undercut Nvidia. If AMD’s offerings were a LOT better than Nvidia’s more ppl would start buying from them instead.
I’ve been using AMD for a few years. My first was a 5700xt and it had awful software and hardware least for me. Since then I got a 6900xt which has been great and later I’ve been using a 7900xt for my wife’s computer which has had minimal issues. AMD has significantly improved over the years and it’s a nice change I hope they keep it up.
I bought a 7900xtx because I didn’t want to spend the extra $200 on a 4080. HOWEVER, I do miss DLSS. It’s just so amazing. Also other cool features like their browser video AI upscale is just neat. Unless FSR becomes not hot garbage my next card will likely be Nvidia again.
I got a 7900XTX instead of a 4090 or a 4080 cause I recommend and made builds with multiple 6000 series cards and they were always great.
God I wish I just went Nvidia. This card is great when it works but it’s annoying beyond all when it just decides to driver crash blackscreen for no fucking reason because AMD fucks up it’s drivers.
I will probably never buy an AMD card again.
What kind of phone do you own?
Got a 6700xt and love the performance especially at the price. Interesting others are reporting stability issues. My card has been great and the drivers get regular updates and have been stable. I suspect a lot a partner manufacturing faults are blamed on AMD when we all want cards cheap and get what you pay for. It’s a race to the bottom on price and quality.

I really hope this is some sort of intoxicated post. Because it is nonsensical. If you want a company to improve on these things then not buying it for these reasons will put more pressure for them to do so. Buying them will only reinforce the idea that these issues do not matter enough to the consumer.
I bought my first Nvidia GPU when I was 16. I’m 24 now.
Mid and high end nVidia have 16/24 GB VRAM, proper raytracing, quality upscaling and framegen.

I just bought a new rig in July.
I bought Nvidia not because it’s the most expensive or any sort of brand loyalty. It’s simply because they have the most features and majority of the AAA games support it.
I’m not gonna get an AMD just because I’m pissed at a Nvidia and ended up putting myself in a frustrating position where my games aren’t run optimally. Like mate, I’m spending over 2k on my new build, it better work well with most games.
Thing to note is I also switched from Intel to AMD with this build.
Long story short, most people like myself, are just gonna get whatever is good and at the moment it’s AMD cpu and Nvidia GPU.
And if you REALLY wanna help the GPU market be more competitive, don’t buy amd, buy Intel Arc. They need your support.
Issue is that Intel aren’t performant and AMD have driver issues. I’ve ran both AMD and Nvidia and Nvidia is by far the easier to use.
Also AMD could just massively undercut Nvidia if they wanted to but are also hiking prices in line with Nvidia.

I will buy nvidia that’s what I will do lol life’s too short for me to try and prove a point that will take years to turn around and get everyone on board. But do you. And no it’s not because it’s the most expensive. It’s more optimized for the games I play. Mostly flight simming. And I need every fps I can get there. BTW I use AMD cpu, why? Because it’s better for the games I play. Period.
I kept having driver issues with AMD cards so I switched to NVIDIA. Hasn’t really been an issue for me since then.
I also think NVIDIAs performance was better than AMDs when I was building my current PC but I can’t remember. I chose a 3080 instead of like a 6800 or something
I do miss AMDs built in overclocking system tho, I think it was easier to use than MSI Afterburner.
I have no brand loyalty. I buy what is best for my specific use case and budget at that time. That just so happens to typically be nvidia currently and in the past, not necessarily the future though.
Imagine spending your hard earned money on a subpar product because a 13y old on Reddit pressured you into doing so after believing more VRAM is more better for 1080p cards.
Why buy a complete GPU with excellent software suite features when you can buy a worse one, genius

I sold my Nvidia 4080 Super FE, bought a Sapphire Pulse 7900 GRE, and pocketed so much money to upgrade other parts of my rig.
