Wait until you do anything else in life and realize how easy this part was. Even in just building the computer, front USB A 3.0 is harder to actually fully seat.

When I was building my PC I messed up and now when it’s turned on the power button doesn’t glow and when it’s off its the reverse. Still haven’t fixed it

I told him the hardest part is the front panel connectors.
He came to work the next day, told me the PC won’t start. Asked if I would take a look.
He plugged the front panel into a USB port.
I looked at him as said, “remember what I told you was the hardest part of building a computer?”

The slots on the MB are usually labeled. No need for a manual, just look at the slots.

I really wish theyd just settle on a standard already. This is by far the most annoying part, especially since IO shields are now a thing of the past for the most part.

Ok but can we talk about how and why this still isn’t standardized? I get that different cases have different features for all these, but like…it’s fucking annoying plugging a bunch of single wires into a block instead of their own single (and thus more obvious) connectors.
Or maybe have it be standard practice to simply have a standard block on the motherboards and a standard plug that case manufacturers wire everything to, so that no matter what combo of features it’s always the same 1:1 plug into the motherboard?
Like…we’ve thought about this for every other plug. Standardized USB-C and made it symmetrical, even. Why are these little bastards still just doing their own thing on every build?

You know that weird looking paper thing in your motherboards box? Try touching it.
Mine was also about 10-15 pages. It just shows you a picture of your Motherboard and explains what each connection is used for. That specific location for Power is confusing since it’s a bunch of pins and you have to read the manual to see what each pin does.
