There’s a portal that can take YOU to any video game world you choose. It can take you there and back but only once. In the game world you will arrive as yourself and NOT as a character. If you die in the game world you die for real. You can bring back with you one item from the game world and it will function as intended in the real world, even if it involves magic. Which game world are you entering and which item will you return with?

I go to Minecraft creative mod
Pop a command block and go back to the real world
Now i start farming( using commands) diamonds and emeralds and sell them for profit
Diablo 2. Id come home and bring my dad back for one more… well whatever. A talk, a beer, a joint. Just anything for one more talk with my old man. I know I never made him proud but I’d still love to see him
I go into the DoA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball world. I do not return.
I can think of many great options from Steam’s adult section…
Go into a star wars game, bring back an astromech droid… have him design software for me constantly ahead of current tech.
Go to Skyrim and get a staff of Cure Disease. Then go back home and hang out at the nearest hospital. Then hope that cancer counts as a disease.
I head to the world of Scribblenauts, grab the notebook, and return to our world
I can now scribble anything I want into existence
The grappling hook from Just Cause 4. Assuming I don’t get shot trying to obtain it , it would be awfully fun to play around with. I’d probably die back in reality doing something stupid.
WoW, specifically wrath of the lich king, and take frostmourne. But if I had to fight arthas for it, no thank you.
If it’s something I have to try and obtain on my own (if this counts as an item of course), the mark of the outsider from the dishonored series
If I pop over into a Pokemon game, does bringing a poke ball back with a pokemon inside also transfer the pokemon? Because that seems super breakable.
Go into the Scribblenauts Unlimited world and snatch Maxwell’s notebook real quick. Jump back and enjoy godhood.
Obviously I go into Portal and come back with a portal gun!
Stardew Vally and it’s not even close, the entire game is designed to be pleasant and make everyone lives better. i’ll just live and die there, no need to come back
Twilight zone did this episode…but obvi I’d go to a game of immortality, competitive without death, like RC/PRO-AM
A new hand touches the beacon.
Greed Island
Mass Effect universe. I would bring back the Normandy
Yes but can real me then learn the things of that world? Such as if I go to a world of magic can I then learn magic while I am there?
🤔 …Minecraft’s ender chest, specifically filled with full stacks of golden carrots attached to a farming source in-game
Teleport into icewindale 2 into a specific cabin with an unlocked chest out back. Inside the chest is a club shaped like a hand. Grab it and come back. Once a day I can open the hand and find a gold coin. Never have to work again. Slowly hurting the gold economy. Tip bartenders with real gold coins. Hell yeah.
There are so many, but you know what sticks out in my mind right now?
Just quick pop over to the Mechanicus armory in Darktide for my very own bolter.
There are so many better things to get, but right now I just want a gun that fires mini RPGs the size of Red Bull cans.
Katamari Damacy (2004)
I’d return with the Katamari roll it around the Earth picking up all garbage, wrecking cities and bringing civilization back to the stone age. I’d create a new trash planet and at the same time give Earth a second chance. Merry Christmas everyone.
I go to Garry’s mod and bring back the toolgun. The physgun is tempting but I feel like unbreakable instant welds and a literal delete button would be more useful. Also duplication of any item with the dupe tool. And if we are extra generous and assume the spawn menu is a function of the toolgun because you can choose to spawn items “with toolgun” then everything in the menu is mine, even more if I download a whole bunch of mods before going there so all that stuff is in the menu of the gun I bring back.
I travel to the world of Horizon Zero Dawn and have the Nora train me as a machine hunter, and join Aloy & Co. on their adventures. I do not return
Do I have to leave? I just go into the Pokémon world, and live there forever. If I had to leave, I would probably take with me a Ditto, since to my knowledge Ditto has the DNA of all Pokémon (and people potentially?), therefore pokeballs and Pokémon can be reverse engineered to be real. Either I take that with me, or just Misty.
Honey Select, I am immortal sex man 👨
Maybe Cyberpunk?
I like creature comforts and my morals are more law based than anything else.
A Marvel game. Portal in, nab the Infinity Gauntlet, come home.
I would go into Star Wars empire At war and bring back the eclipse class star destroyer in the kuat drive yards. Complete with an squadrons of fighters
Go to Destiny world, bring back the core of a golden age super-computer.
In Destiny, after the Traveler showed up on earth, it basically gave humanity everything it could possible need to have a “Golden Age” of technology, science, discovery, growth, etc. During this Golden Age, humanity made insanely powerful super computers like Rasputin, who were able to assist and guide humanity through unbelievable leaps of invention and creation.
We made guns that shoot black holes, antigravity, cold fusion. There’s so many made up science words to describe the absolute batshittery of technology humanity was able to produce alongside these computers.
I’m bringing one home lads. What’s the worst that can happen?
Man, I wanted this movie to be the book so much.
Fallout 3 for the GECK
The handheld fabricator from Subnautica
Starbound. I’d bring back the Matter Manipulator. I assume all furniture, machines, and materials are somehow contained within the Matter Manipulator itself, since when you select one to place instead of your character holding the item they hold the Matter Manipulator, which then projects a hologram of what you’re placing. So not only would I be bringing a powerful tool that can deconstruct and reconstruct matter flawlessly, but also whatever sci-fi level technology and priceless valuable materials would be able to fit within its storage.
XCOM.
There’s no laws against the Vipers, Bradford, I can do whatever I want with them.
ATV Off-road Fury and get a brand-new 20 year old ATV.
I’d go to Kingdom Hearts and bring back the lamp from Aladdin. Now I can hang out with Robbin Willams and I get three wishes
