    Whoopsie doodle!

You know, this was inevitable as of 11th gen… TSMC has been eating Intel’s lunch for years with their ability to produce a continually smaller node in higher volumes.

Intel struggles to build and upgrade fabs and they bet on the server market instead of concentric diversification. (Making more generic chips for a wider array of uses).

They focused on direct to consumer (or channel sales) instead of waking up to the fact that chips have been a commodity for awhile now.

Combine arrogant leadership with slipping engineering and relying more on chasing quarterly profits has led them to this. It’s sad because they can make amazing products but chose so poorly to listen to marketers instead of the market.

    RIP Intel.

On the plus side, this sets up to a couple years until AMD gets crappy and Intel claws it’s way back maybe?

That guy on WSB is gonna be a legend if his 700k gamble pays off

I want to know where the hell they think they get off, when theyve been behind AMD for years. Making faulty cpus, and now lay offs? They aren’t just shooting themselves in the foot; theyre taking a hacksaw to it.

And the hits keep comin and they don’t stop comin

The entire market is down lol

Edit: downvote all you want. I’m on board the intel hate bandwagon. But we dont need to grasps all the straws. This isn’t entirely due to their shit business practices.

  7. Guarantee you there will be fools rushing to scoop up the bag and “buy the dip” not realizing that Intel has been a trash company for years. This is just time catching up with incompetence.

And all this without the 13/14 gen CPU debacle… they should brace themselves when the issue comes to light to investors and partners. It’s going to be a tough road for Intel from now on. They better fund the F out of their R&D department. But I highly doubt it’s the end of Intel, and I hope it better not be since we can’t have a CPU monopoly as well.

  9. Comprehensive_Ship42

We all better hope intel comes back from this or we only have AMD . And having one company being the sole maker of CPUs is bad for innovation , competition it’s just bad all round . And could hike the prices to 2k a cpu for the best 9950x and we would have to pay it because they would be the only people making CPUs . If intel goes bankrupt. Bad news all round .

RIP to that guy who put 700k out of his late grandmother’s inheritance into Intel

  11. talancaine

The more and more intel news I see, I’m convinced that grans inheritance kid was just some board member shitposting during the final meeting before they announce the layoffs/scale back.

    Looking at you “Dr” Ishrak

The dividend suspension is killer. I literally thought about selling yesterday knowing Tech Jesus was about to go over something big but stopped since it was still paying a decent dividend.

    Sucks for me…

Augh. Hate to see this. I don’t want AMD to become the crappy Intel that kept us on 4 cores for a decade.

  14. SleepyGamer1992

I’m so glad I didn’t invest $700,000 in Intel stock.

  15. GreyCookieDough

The market giveth and the market taketh.

  16. AncientStaff6602

So I had this bright idea to blow 700k on this stock…

  17. Hollow_Apollo

Me to Intel: Are the “setbacks” in the room with us right now?

  18. That guy who just invested 700k in Intel should have waited just a wee bit longer.

  19. Moto_919

Now even more happy with my full AMD build then i was before 😂

  20. ElektrikDingo

Fuck that dude in r/wallstreetbets who dropped 700k on Intel stock must be crying
