Man I remember the endless waves of enemies on old COD campaigns until you got to a trigger point. I’m sure World at war was one of the tougher ones.
Tbf the MW2019 campaign is pretty damn good

The campaign was awesome, online too. And I mean, OG Zombies… c’mon!

Though the American campaign was sleep inducing the Soviet one was probably one of their best of the ww2 era

I’m not asking for realism. But back in the day these campaigns and multiplayer suites felt like they cared about the tone, aesthetic, and overall quality. Nowadays you’ve got Nikki Minaj and chicken nugget themed skins because they care about what idiots will buy more than they care about aesthetic cohesion. This is an issue with the whole industry tho
World at war was the bet call of duty
Just play it on veteran and you’ll be swarmed by grenades every 5 seconds.
God this mission was so tense…
I still think I have PTSD from the amount of grenades that were thrown right on top of me playing on veteran.
The co-op campaign was SO MUCH FUN
I have a very specific memory of playing this on my old laptop which was running so hot it would burn your hand if you touched the wrong spot, and being in a long hall way with waves of baddies coming at me and this old guy on the photo. Tommy gun or equivalent in hand.

I loved playing this game in multiplayer in servers that only allowed bolt action rifles without scopes.

So I downloaded the latest COD on GamePass. All 310GB of it. And you know what? It’s so chock full of multiplayer, zombies, capture your mates foreskin bullshit, I couldn’t even figure out how to launch a single player campaign. After 10 minutes, I just uninstalled it and played something made for people over the age of 7 instead.
I used to look forward to a new Call of Duty release. Now it just makes me hate gaming.
The irony, I don’t play a extremely linear FPS campaign for so long, I guess if I pick up the Modern Warfare remake, that will feel like a “novelty”
skins/operators/heroes have ruined fps games, we’ll never get another good one
CoD WWII was pretty good, except for everything that’s locked behind a pay wall
It was fun until I learned russians and germans were exactly the same and did all the same crimes until they decided to betray eachother.
Since then every game with russian protagonists makes me nauseous.
“One rat at a time” for me still stands towards the russian army.

WaW had the best campaign of any COD game, full stop. Vendetta, Downfall, and Black Cats were peak.
They had such a good run back then. Every game from mw1 to bo2 was perfect.

I was actually enjoying some HC Shipment in MWII when they dropped 3 on game pass. Then it started saying I didn’t own 2 even though the disk is literally in the Xbox. So fuck it I started playing 3. But then I thought I may as well check out the campaign cause I heard it was shit. Don’t have the proper files downloaded. I hate the future.
A memory of world at war i have is getting into the beta on Xbox360, Inviting some friends over to play it only for my 360 to suffer the red ring of death after about 45 minutes 😭

It was the battle passes for me. I could do a bunch of versions, but making me pay to unlock meta weapons is never OK in my book.
This one on playing multiplayer War on Hardcore was so much fun. Equipping camo and a bayonet and just juking all the PPSh spammers to stab them. Ahh, satisfying.
