I bought my 13900KF because I wanted a powerful and overclockable CPU during a time well before any of this became known and replacement of this CPU means either downgrading to a 12th gen or buying not only a new CPU but a new motherboard also that can also fit all my other components.
“Look at those clowns that bought high-end Intel CPU” posts are quite tiring and antagonistic considering how unprecedented this all is and none of this is the fault of the consumer that just wanted to buy their chosen CPU and have it work as advertised. It’s not like Intel has a long and storied history of selling faulty products any more than any other tech company out there has already been doing so it’s not like most people like me knew what we were getting into and “paid the price.”
Antagonising them for wanting a high end CPU to work as advertised is just a crappy thing to do. Just like buying GPUs with 8 GB VRam, buying a [insert “that” brand] GPU, or a prebuilt, a prebuilt from [“that” online store], etc etc etc. where “that” is whatever is the du jour disliked company of the day.
EDIT: Just to note that the two most powerful recommended PC builds on this sub have intel CPUs.

In US law, lapping wouldn’t void warranty. The only way they can deny warranty claims is if they can prove that your action caused the damage you’re claiming for. Just like how they can’t deny warranty on your car just because you changed the brake pads. Unless the brake pads being installed properly caused an accident. Or the lapping was done incorrectly and melted the PC. But doing it correctly and the CPU fucking up from something else, they’d still have to honor the warranty.
