I washed my mainboard in the shower once, dried it with a fan and started it back up 20 minutes later 😂 worked for years until my loop started leaking.. you will be fine

If water made it’s way into the HDD, it’s probably on borrowed time. It’s also a good idea to rinse all PCBs with isopropyl alcohol to, hopefully, stop any future corosion.

I’m not sure how wet it got, but next time, I’d also remove the cpu to let the socket and pins air out too

Glad it survided.
If this happens again:
Would have removed the CPU from the socket because water can get under the CPU.
Try to disassemble the 2.5′ SSD if possible for the same reason. Water can be in the case of the SSD.

Clean it with isopropyl alcohol first, itll stop water corrosion in case any of it got in places that wont just dry on their own

If you’re ever worried about water damage, remember this. My father once found an old tv outside someones yard to be picked up as trash, he brought it home, powerwashed it, and waited about a week or so, and it worked good as new

3 days is a reasonable amount of time if its been in a place with decent airflow
Inspect to make sure theres no visible moisture and you should be ok
I’d be more worried about static electricity putting bare electronics on a cloth like that.
Update: THIS MF FUCKING SURVIVED (All working now, thanks everyone who responded to this post :D)
