I'm on my third playthru, I got platinum last year. After wrapping up the Elden Ring DLC I came back to Night City, determined to play on "very hard" difficulty without leveling body. Oda has been the only roadblock. I did all the fixer gigs, and all the cyberpsychos before facing him. I was around level 45. Eventually I took him down lol

Easily the hardest boss. Dude is impossible if you have enemies of night city mod installed.

You don’t even get to Smasher until you’ve already gone as far in the game as you can go, thus being as overpowered, overleveled, and generally badass as your V will ever be, at that point. They did make Smasher harder after the Edgerunners update, but there’s only so much you can do when you’re dealing with whatever your version of Peak V is.
Oda, on the other hand, you meet probably less than halfway through the game, so you’re not at your peak condition yet. And even then is genuinely a hard opponent.
To be real with you, I think that Royce has the ability to be even worse of an opponent if you go after him while he’s in the Exo suit and you didn’t grind all of Watson before you do The Pickup quest.
If *he* is the hardest then maybe I should’ve upped the difficulty😅
Or maybe it’s because I was level 60 before i even did takemuras missions🤔

Smasher is a lot scarier to me though. It isn’t fair for a man that size to be that fast.

I didn’t really have a problem with the bosses what i struggled with was the rooms with a bunch of enemies all shooting at you at once
Oda is my favorite boss fight honestly. Just his entrance looks awesome and he’s nearly killed me every time I fight him. Adam hinself isnt hard, what makes him difficult is all the grunts that are constantly shooting at you whereas Oda is a 1v1 with a hyper violent melee build that can also use guns.
He’s very easy compared to smasher if you level up body, but if you don’t have the health I can understand that struggle
Oda was a cool boss but he wasn’t particularly hard, now tbf I was probably overleveled and was using a Sandy Katana build which seemed pretty effective against him.
Idk, I met Oda when I was already overpowered too so-
I fought Oda in both my playthroughs and I don’t even remember what he does in the fight.
The only way I was able to beat Oda was with the Dildo
Maybe in the vanilla game but after the 2.0 update, that’s hard to buy.
