Thats a great idea, go and use it, maybe even with 4090, it should work with ease 😀
Darkmaniako
that was unironically a good psu in the old days, Antec was very relevant
jarchack
Back in the day, you’d need armor piercing bullets to take down an Antec.
Chrushev
I still use an Antec 900, it’s been in 3 builds in the last 17 years.
mecha_monk
Still a really neat PSU for a home server or HTPC tbh
CaldoDePata
It’s smart. Excellent choice 👍
Comprehensive_Ship42
I think you made the smart choice
madtape6
I use Antec Neo-ECO Gold for years and never had issues, really affordable and good PSU.
zeeblefritz
I feel like this might have been my first PSU.
feso60
I mean I know that one should future proof their build but dont you think thats a little bit excessive?
hauntedyew
Antec makes great units. I presume you’re doing something low power?
smoothartichoke27
Oh wow! TWO whole SATA connectors! Yay!
Seriously, though. Antec was a pretty big name in the old days.
PotatoAcid
Unless the caps have died, still perfectly adequate for an office PC 🙂
fly_over_32
Now with two, count it, two sata connectors
TheDregn
Unironacally probably a better PSU than most of the prebuilts one can purchase in the supermarket or on the marketplace.
Xerio_the_Herio
Pretty sure that was in my very first build back in 2004.

You laugh, but that psu was godlike in it’s day.
SeriouslyFishyOk
Antec actually made really good PSUs back then.
Hattix
Wow.
As I remember this was *the exact PSU* which caused Antec’s fall from grace. Antec did mid-tier PSUs and quite nice cases. Then they seemingly changed their PSU supplier and quality went through the floor overnight, by the time Antec rebranded them to “Earthwatts”, they were high on the list of “AVOID AT ALL COSTS” and we’d all gone to Seasonic.

I miss the days when if your power supply went out, you could just get another cheap power supply to replace it.
Otoh, these days if you get a good one, they seem to last nearly forever, but they do cost a lot more now.

My old psu. Back In time I wonder what happens when I chance that voltage button while operating. Well as you guys know burnt the fuck outta my pc. Well 13 year old me. How can I know?
Own_Initiative396
100.33 W/$ !!
DefaultingOnLife
Price is right
WarpGremlin
I’m pretty sure I have one of these in one of my retro builds.
Their vintage cases are bulletproof.
That said, if I could fit a 4070 and Ryzen 9 and their cooling assemblies in a SX1000 case without a dremel, I would. A modern PSU fits,

You think I can run a 4090 off of this bad boy?
rekd0514
I think I still have one of my Earthwatts EA380 power supplies. It always worked for me.
