Which motherboard did you upgrade to? (Different chipset of course)

I’m so surprised with how many people are taking chances buying from eBay and Ali express…. Only a few years ago that would be considered and ABSOLUTE no…?

Yeah, it runs like butter. The reviews go on about the fps gains, but it’s eliminating the low 0.1%’s where you feel it.

I also thought my 9900k was holding its own with a healthy overclock but yeah… it wasn’t

Bruh eBay is legit. Just picked up a 3090 for 700 all in. Yeah it was probably used for mining but I’ll repaste it and I got a back up 6800 so ima ride it till the wheels fall off.

Congrats. On the EBay side yes it is people selling to upgrade but it’s also people buying processors only to find they lost the silicon lottery and so sell it on.
Good and bad.

Man, that 8700k was/is such a great CPU. Previous build has it and it still purrs like a kitten when i boot it up.

Congratulations OP!
What kind of difference did it make in FPS?
Any before and after benchmarks?
Which GFX card are you using?
baucher04

My 8700k is still rocking and i refuse to upgrade/replace it until it dies.
Such a great CPU!
Pair it with a 4070ti and 32 GB of RAM.
But I am very tempted to buy AMD CPU each time i see a good sale.

Yooo, same upgrade path I went a little over a year ago, snagged a 7800x3D 2 weeks after launch for $380, prtty good deal at the time imo, fantastic upgrade!!

I thought my Series X was holding its own, then I saw the light and built my first PC. This bad boy and a 7900XTX.
