First off and possibly the hottest take I have is BOTD > MOTD. Let me start this by saying that I have 0 nostalgia towards either, since I only started playing cod zombies in like 2021. I think that MOTD has very little to do, and no staminup is so trash. This mixed with the bleed out mechanic (zombies dying after a couple minutes). Makes everything hard to accomplish at a decent round. BOTD has so much to offer with various side Easter eggs, and I personally love the main quest as well as the BO4 perk system. If someone could explain what makes MOTD so amazing I’d be happy to hear your opinion.
And this brings me to another hot take I have, the perk system in BO4 is the best we’ve ever had. I think that if there was a way to change what perks you have equipped, that would make everything better and perfect. I think the only other game to perfect the perk system is the maps where it is possible to get a free perkaholic via miscellaneous tasks. (Buried, Call of the dead, die rise etc.). I think that in most zombies games you go for only a couple different perks with little to no variation, and in comparison to bo4 you usually use a different perk load out just about every game. If you use the same perks in bo4 every game, than I encourage you to use some other one that you’ve never tried, it can be really fun and you’d be surprised how good some of the perks are.
I have much more hot takes but I think I’ve written enough for the average redditor to read in one sitting, and I understand that 99% of people disagree so I’m glad to have some “productive” conversations in the comments.

BO4 is the best one.
If jug was just a 5th perk machine on the map similar to cod WW2 rather than something you spawn with there’d be way less hate for the bo4 perk system.
All the other og perks were handled pretty well, it was jug that felt like a weird afterthought.
The ability to change perks somehow would also help
Definitely agree with BOTD being better.
After replaying B04 recently so I could the EEs since I never did them on PS4, I can definitely say it’s probably my 2nd most favorite zombies experience as of right now.

Bo4 had goat maps, just horrible mechanics IMO. But BOTD indeed slapped hard
what makes bo4 perk system better than cold war perk system ? when perkaholic isnt even a powerup , its just the default thing
