Dear Reddit,
sorry for cross posting, I really hope to get more attention, thank you guys!
I recently purchased a Asus dual 4070 super OC card and noticed that my scores are notably lower than average score and that reported in 3Dmark timespy.
- My score at stock setting. [timespy](https://www.3dmark.com/spy/49337218), [steelnomad](https://www.3dmark.com/sn/883737).
- Average result from 3dmark official website [link](https://benchmarks.ul.com/hardware/gpu/NVIDIA+GeForce+RTX+4070+SUPER/review). Note I also find a different testing website showed that their founders edition is also around this score.
- If I undervolt the card with 975mv, with 2750mhz core and plus 1800mhz memory I can get slightly above average [score](https://www.3dmark.com/spy/49327192). This setting is also tested with 1hour+ OCCT stress test.
What I did:
- Ensured drivers are clean uninstalled and reinstalled.
- Did all the small things like ensure nvidia panel has power setting to max performance, etc.
- Checked BIOS settings to enable XMP, PBO, etc.
What ppl should know:
- My RAM is on the lower end, it is 5600mhz CL40 from corsair.
Additionally, what bothers me more is that, not only my card is lower at stock performance, it seems its OC potential is also limited:
- My reference video [link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5Halugk3d0&ab\_channel=ImWateringPSUs), which I think is really helpful and high quality.
- There are two notable settings from this video: 1) efficient version with 900mv, with 2550mhz core and plus 1000mhz memory 2) power version with 975mv, with 2750mhz core and plus 1000mhz.
- The video's author mentioned that depends on your cards' potential, you can go a bit or a lot higher at those settings.
- BUT, what I noticed is that, I can only go +25mhz from the above core clock at respective voltages, and any higher will result in OCCT errors.
- In terms of memory, it seems I can go +1800mhz with 1 hour of OCCT test no issues.
My question in hope wonderful people could help me a bit: did I get a bad sample? Should I consider return and reorder a different card, if so what brand do people recommend? I am thinking just to use default founders edition… Thank you very much for your time!
