Infinite is pretty sweet now
I feel part of that was the wild west voice chat lobbies, which will obviously never return.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think Halo 5 had the best multiplayer.

“back in the day” is key. I guarantee if it released now for the first time as is people would be complaining that it was too slow and that there’s a “lack of progression”.
It not enough for 343 to emulate the gameplay design, which they already refuse to do. Their map design, sound design, weapon sandbox design, are all extremely shit and do not feel like proper halo. They also can’t release a product with more content than previous games to save their life, and now they’ve decided to start locking everything behind MTX. halo is dead, and the sooner Ms realizes it the sooner 343 can stop wasting money and time making their shitty games.
Bungie doesn’t own it anymore. Those days are gone.

343 was going to turn Master Chief Collection into a live service last year but changed their minds after receiving community backlash. I honestly wish they would have went through with it.

I wish microsoft would let go of the IP so that the microsoft curse can finally be lifted from it. They don’t even have to give it back to bungie, literally anyone could do better than they have in the last 15 years with this IP.

Infinite did that, classic art style with the closest to halo 3 gameplay we have gotten since halo 3 and people shit all over it for lack of content. Games may have changed but so did you, you’ll never feel that return to form because you don’t have unlimited time to game with friends anymore. Enjoy the memories but also realize you will never recapture that feeling

For me, nothing was more fun than Halo 3’s Rocket Race. Then they made mandatory DLC maps and disabled the game mode if you didn’t buy them. Haven’t cared for Halo since :[
