A nice review a player left for No Man’s Sky. Who agrees?

While I didn’t enjoy NMS, I appreciate anyone’s review of a game that they genuinely favor. Not everyone is meant to like every single game. That’s why there’s a variety and different genres. Something for everyone.

I know what depression can do to a person and if this fellow gamer can find even a small amount of joy from it. I’m down with it. I wish them endless amounts of serotonin and dopamine that they can harvest from NMS.

  2. Looks like standard copy pasta award farming spam.

Haven’t picked it up, but this is just a great story and a testament to how great it is live in a time where there is such a versatile array of games available for anyones style.

I reinstall it every time there is a big and all I find is boring planets with generic looking dinosaur/lizards walking around and I just can’t get into it.

Can’t say I agree on NMS, it’s just too empty for me, but I did have a similar experience in 2 instances:

The first being OneShot, which I originally thought would be some type of RPG maker game, but it’s all Zelda like puzzles. Turned out I was kinda right but oh so wrong. That was one of the most surprising titles I have ever played. Also got me more into indie games like Hyper Light Drifter, Hollow Knight etc.

The other was NieR: Automata. Basically wanted to play a “dumb action rpg where you just mindlessly kill things”, that Japanese game that birthed a shit-ton of cosplayers seemed like what I want. Never in my dreams did I expect to get cry from any form of media, but that game broke the fucking dam. I still get teary eyed whenever I randomly hear the OST in random YouTube montages. Or for example the trailer for Voice of Cards, just because of the same composer.

In other words: doing informed decisions is never wrong, but sometimes you may just surprise yourself with your future favourites by going in blind.

This is a copy pasta that users post to farm awards.
