This. Making me wait for third-party-bullshit to install gigabyte updates *is not cool!*

I hate this stupid app so much.

Wait till you see Ubisoft launcher. You download a game from Steam, launch it, Ubisoft launcher launches and tells you to wait because it needs to download another 30 GB of patches…

Fuck EA
TheRealComicCrafter
It sucks when I wana play BF1 or TF2 and they wont launch and I have to restart my PC and force close EA like 18 times
Mr_Under_ScoreX
Good thing I never bought EA games anywhere but on Steam
MeasurementOk3007
Steam is the biggest platform and 99% of games don’t need third party launchers.
Nobody likes ea launchers cuz it’s tedious and annoying like no mf nobody even buys games on your platform.
Bot_jake
I’ve had this happen a bunch lately too. Go into task manager and end all EA tasks (one is specifically “EA background service”) and then try and launch the EA app first. Then your game through the launcher
App is just a a pile of crap
Clear_Assignment7470
I don’t like EA. But I play TF2 on Steam and don’t have any issues honestly. I launch steam. I launch TF2, it auto launches origin in background (or whatever EA app), and because I have it on saved password, it doesn’t prompt me and few seconds later I’m in TF2 game, no extra prompts no hassle.

Don’t forget “could not connect to EA servers.”

>EA: Why do people dislike our launcher and prefer Steam?
No one at EA is asking this, they do not fucking care what we like, they care about what they like which is money which is exactly why they do what they do.

The EA App is so, so terrible. Even Ubisoft Connect isn’t as bad.
azuranc
my theory for launchers being slow is that is when it is uploading all the telemetry. makes more sense before the game, otherwise when one closes the game it would be odd to have the task stick around.

My bro bought me star wars battlefront 2 so we can play together immediately noticed It auto installs the EA launcher played for 30 mins then told him to refund it and never buy me an EA game again
There whole ecosystem is so dogshit it’s honestly baffling
Asleeper135
I don’t like EA’s launcher, but TBH it was never one of the worst for me. Epic, Blizzard, and Ubisoft are my least favorites. I’d rather not have a launcher at all than use them. Steam is still head and shoulders above the rest though.

Because its only purpose is to launch newer games made by the false EA, the imposter that today bears no resemblance to the legend behind classic titles like Starflight, LHX, Syndicate, 688i, Jane’s WWII Fighters, Fight Night Round 3, NFS: Shift, Dead Space, Mirror’s Edge, Bad Company, and Mass Effect.
All of which I can play without this dumb launcher.

Just want to say EA can suck my balls
Magma_Dragoooon
Thats why I don’t touch any game that requires me to use a standalone launcher EVER
_Ev4n_
Best part about the EA launcher is how it constantly deletes itself, and when you try to remove it from your computer (cause it likes to think it’s still installed) it says “nah”. Then when you try to install it again it says “nah” cause it thinks it’s still installed. Oh also the “repair” doesn’t work either. So I never can play an EA game on my computer.

Because EA is an utter piece of crap that requires me to reboot every single time on a PC with multiple accounts using the same Steam account.
I bought “It takes two”. 5/5 game. Highly recommended. But is has put EA on my blacklist, and i will never buy again from them. It even convinced me to go GOG first instead of Steam.
It’s not worth it fidgeting 5-10min everytime to get their game going. Don’t forget, if they turn down their servers, you’ll be SOL.

50/50 chance opening rainbow six siege crashes my pc and makes it restart when i try to open it. Such a shit company. Takes 9 decades to open on an ssd to for no reason when it doesnt crash.
Only time my pc has crashed is opening rainbow besides once like a year ago when i used to many assets in beamng.

I would’ve ended the process after 1 minute and try again.

Stupid thing randomly forgets my login details. Ubisoft’s one is the same but a bit more consistent in that it does it if you haven’t logged in for a while. Still annoying, but consistent. The EA launcher just does it randomly whenever it feels like it.
Plus it’s EA. Don’t like them generally. And what the fuck are they doing about the cheaters in their games? They’re fucking riddled. I’ve been reporting people left, right and centre and nothing is getting done. Battlefront II’s population is now getting quite small and I’m seeing the same names every day, and many of them are now high level players who I’ve reported several times for using cheats like instant full health, infinite ability use, flying around the fucking level, hiding their name and using chat channels they shouldn’t have access to. They’re high level these days because they’ve been playing so long – they’re clearly not getting banned. I uploaded a video to a site once showing someone clearly cheating and I sent the link on when I reported them. Months later I can see that nobody has viewed the video. It’s clear that nobody at EA is doing anything about cheaters, even when directly reported.
It’s similar in Battlefield 2042. Start a game of Close Quarters Combat in say, the Redacted Hebrides map. Within a few minutes your team has been pushed back to their starting flag point with one or two players on the opposing team sitting on 40+ kills with everyone else not having even gone near 10 yet.
This is the kind of shit that’ll get me to not buy any EA games from now on. Meanwhile Ubisoft has entire lists of people showing up when I play Rainbow Six Siege that shows how many people they’ve just banned for cheating. I don’t like Ubisoft either, but clearly they’re trying to deal with the cheaters.
I don’t like EA for their business practices. I’m starting to hate EA for releasing a game, shitting out some DLC then completely ignoring the fact that they quickly get polluted by cheaters. And the fucking cheaters themselves don’t even realise that they’re killing the games they love to cheat in.
*Fuck* EA.
