Hello, people!

I have a 5800x3D on an Asus B550 f gaming with 4x16GB of 3200 MHz. Do you think I will be able to get an increase in performance with this card (7900 XTX MagAir), compared to a 6900 XT (which I'm currently selling) or will my CPU bottleneck the system?

Yeah don’t use those bottleneck calculators. According to them a 14900k isn’t good enough for a 4080. Lmao

You’re fine, don’t use those bottleneck calculation websites they don’t know jack

I’m planning to play mostly at 4k and occasionally at 1440p.

I don’t know how to edit the text of the post from mobile.

It is more than fine. But is the performance increase worth the price? That is the question

    I’m rocking a 5800x3d 7900xtx happy gaming on my  hisense u8k 144hz 55in tv @4k
    No problems.

I am running a 5600X with a 4080, the GPU is the bottleneck, just as it is supposed to be.

Current _800x3D processors are le creme of la creme for those GPUs

    I have a 5800X3D and I have a ton of headroom with a 7800XT. I bet it would pair with a 7900XTX really nicely.

    I run a 5800x3d with a 4080 Super, it’s kept up perfectly fine in both 1080p and 4k.

You’ll be good, some people scoff at am4 because AM5 came out but the 5800x3D and many other am4 chips are still viable and will be for a few more years.

Yes it is if you play at a higher resolution than 1080p.

My mate has a 7600X for a 7900XTX (1440p) and he’s having 0 problems maxing out his GPU usage in AAA games. Quite a flawless experience

The 5800x3D is still a very powerful CPU. Run it.

not related but that is a dope looking 7900XTX model

I’m on 5800x3d and a 7900 GRE and I wish I had more GPU power

  14. Personally speaking, I probably wouldn’t make that upgrade. Not enough of a performance difference between GPUs for my taste, better to skip one or more generations.

But no, 5800x3D is unlikely to slow you down, especially not at 4k. It’s true that there are faster gaming CPUs on the market, but only a few – that 5800x3D would still make the top 10, maybe top 5 even.

I have a 5800x3D and the 7900XTX with the unlocked 550w+ OC bios. Zero bottle necks.

With my 3440×1440 165hz display, my 6950XT and 5800X3D feels really balanced, and I don’t think a 7900XTX would help much in **most** of the games I play. There are always exceptions though, but in general it wouldn’t be worth it for me as the most GPU intensive game I play is Ghost of Tsushima since most AAA games these days are dumpster fires

Its just 1 generation old, why wouldn’t it work lol

I would’ve loved to have found this out myself, however my 5800X non-3D died and took the very expensive motherboard with it (MSI x570 Godlike). So I went with the 7800X3D and the Sapphire Nitro+ 7900XTX. Both CPU and GPU show at 2ms in CoD at 1440, and give about 240fps avg on the big Warzone map. Not that I can currently PLAY Warzone, as I have been shadow banned for daring to kill a player.

You will have a bottleneck with that CPU with anything faster than the 7800XT, but depending on the game you won’t notice it, best CPU for the 7900XTX is the 7800X3D.

It’s crazy to me that people spend that much money on something but refuse to educate themselves on it.

Yes, that combo is fine. If you really were unaware of that and refused to look up the answer on your own… I’m guessing you’ve put some service providers’ kids thru college.

A Google search would have been more effective, and you could have avoided those people accusing you of karma farming.

The more I think about this post, the more it confuses me. If you have the cash for that system, you probably work a decent job. That’s going to require some measure of intelligence. Meaning you’re capable of understanding what you have but for whatever reason have chosen not to…?

Or, I’m the right amount of high for Friday evening. Everybody love everybody! And have a great weekend.
