After some 15 years, my Mad Catz afterglow 360 controller has finally developed a stick drift. I'm not interested in repairing it, as it was always a cheap turd.

I'd like to get something new, but probably not just your everyday OE controller. Obviously I've heard of Scuf, but surely there are other viable options, right? I'm definitely interested in mappable buttons and I'd like additional controls like finger paddles or front buttons like the Scuf.

What are people using and enjoying?

    Mad catz and afterglow are different things. But regardless just get a normal Xbox controller.

    I like the Razer Wolverine V2 if you don’t mind wired. It’s currently on sale on Amazon for $50 too.

    Just remember Amazon jacks their prices up before prime days and then claims everything is on some big sale. I’d check some price tracking sites so you don’t get blinded by prime day. No, no one is regulating so they can’t do this.

    8-bit Do controllers are my go-to. Loads of features, well made, programmable buttons, easy on the wallet.

    I use a wired Hyperkin controller that’s a close recreation of an Xbox 360 controller. It’s lighter, but I think that’s because it doesn’t have a battery pack. Other than that, it’s close enough.

    Even though it’s a recreation of an Xbox 360 controller, it is not compatible with Xbox 360.

    Recently bought a dualsense controller. Having never used a controller on a PC ever, the dualsense is great. Works fine too, and you can use all the features if you use third party drivers.

    I’ve been using the candy con, works great, tons of features, can customize the look to yourself. I had a 8bit do before that, but it only had issue after issue, and I only had it a few months.

    8bitdo justo realesed yesterday a new controller. Ultimate 2c. 29 bucks wireless, 19 wired. Hall effect joysticks, hall effect triggers, Metallic round joysticks stick. It Will be my new controller.

    I got my Vader 3 Pro from Ali and it’s been my favorite controller so far. Packed with features like hall effect joysticks and triggers, mechanical face buttons, 4 rear buttons and 2 additional front buttons like the OG xbox controller.

    XBox One is my go-to. I was A Sony fanboy for years. Never liked the original Xbox controller, so I never moved through the Xbox years. Once I started PC gaming though I was given an Xbox 360 controller. It became my preferred choice over the PS4 DualShock, I’m still a PC gamer, don’t own a console anymore (sold my PS4 when I built my first PC about 7 years ago) and I use an Xbox One controller, in my opinion that is it the best controller. Just feels right…. Yeah it’s going to cost you some more money than a cheap Amazon knock off of some sort, but it’s worth every penny. Get a couple Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable batteries and you’re good to go. You can pick up a four pack with a charger for less than 30 bucks, hours upon hours of gameplay out of a full charge and with four batteries you always have a backup in case they die.

    Gamesir G7, had mine a few months now and am enjoying it more than the official elite 2 I grabbed from Target. They have a G7 SE that has hall sensor sticks but they have up the mechanical buttons.

    8bitdo Pro 2. It’s great, was recommended to me and no regrets.
