I’m happy my intuition was right and that I snatched up this game back in 2014. I had a feeling this obscure little thing would become harder to come by years later.

I just remember deciding I wanted to collect them all to rank up and burning out midway through. Still would recommend the game, it was early enough in the PS3’s life that everyone was trying things.
I distinctly remember backing everything up when the store went down, so the hardest part would probably be getting my old sixaxis working.
Abortedwafflez
Gameplay kind of reminds me of Phantasy Star Universe.
Morning_Oak
Loved this game, the music especially.
FF-LoZ
I remember being blown away when I saw the dust particles shown when you’re next to the window inside that old cabin.
Jellozz
I actually just played through it for the first time a couple of years ago, I really liked it. Though I also think it’s one of the few games where a remake would actually be cool. Lot of untapped potential in the game from both the story/world and the gameplay.
Howitzeronfire
A youtuber I liked watching before he was exposed as a groomer did a playthrough of this.
Never had heard of it and it didnt grab me
Semi-addict-gamer
Played it for a little bit back in the day, was way too young to fully appreciate it. Didn’t beat it as I got distracted by other games, but definitely even when I was young and couldn’t properly grasp what makes me like the game, I liked it.
And I remember there was a period where I was waiting for a remaster for the PS4 then I gave up on it.

I’ve heard some JRPG fans talk about it in the past. looking at the gameplay right now, i think it’s neat!

I did play it and remember nothing about the story, but the one fluffy monster called “Bug-a-boo” stuck with me. It was so cute… and a bit creepy, but cute.
Humdilly_skumdilly
My dad used to always play this and I never understood anything about the game but I always loved exploring the war and underwater area whenever i got the chance for some reason.
MysteryRadish
Definitely an underrated gem! Odd that it isn’t more well-known, given how quirky it is.
MarcTaco
Never heard of it.
What’s it about?
AelstromM
Watched a buddy of mine play it when it first came out. All I remember is that’s where I learned what a sluice gate is.
SmashingK
This turns into a forgotten gem even during the PS3 generation.
Resonance of Fate is another one though I think that one did somewhat better than Folklore.
Temperoar
I played it back when it first came out and really like the story. Also its art style and music. I’m surprised people don’t talk about it.
EaterOfSin
I wanted to play this game so bad after reading about it in a gaming magazine (those times). But was too young and too poor and lived in a country where you could barely find any main gaming platform stuff back then. Maybe it’s time to finally play it!
phantomagna
This one was awesome. Despite the campaign being a bit repetitive (each character had to traverse the same zones with slightly different monsters sometimes). But the story was good, and the music was great. Combat system was a breath of fresh air.
Sillyputtynutsack
I LOVED this game
SpyderZT
Huh, looks neat. Maybe it’ll “One Day” come to PC. ;P
Reeeaper
One of the greatest PS3 games. I constantly wish they would port to Steam.
It is a really cool game. The mechanics are fun to summon the monsters to fight. Awesome environments. It got a little repetitive from a what I remember.
Jason_Sasha_Acoiners
Oh yeah, I remember hearing about this game months ago. Meant to play it. Definitely extremely obscure. Thanks for reminding me!
MicrobrewGamerZ
This game is the reason I bought a PS3! I still have a sealed second copy!
Bloodmanex
Oh wow thank you for unlocking a hidden memory.
killswitchzero7
Played it originally back when the PS3 was new. Don’t remember beating it. Seen it at an LGS 2 weeks ago and picked it up. Gonna try another run of it at some point.

I have this game but I’ve never played it and I have no idea where I got it from or why I have it. Will definitely have to play it someday.
Nikibugs
I love this game! Such a bizarre monster collector with an even weirder story.
chronicenigma
I FORGOT ABOUT THIS GAME!!!!!
CherryGrabber
I remember the gyro controls, other than that, never got far. Have the disc somewhere, hope it still works.
torsten_dev
cryaotic has a playthrough, miss that guy. Anyone know what happened to him?

This game is a hidden gem!
Funky-Monk--
I’ve posted about it here before! It really is a forgotten game. Amazing gameplay, beautiful world.
Beastmanbob12
Game was nuts, but repetitive fun where I tried to get and improve everything
DBWlofley
So good but alas lost to time, but totally worth playing and if you have a PC, you can find a way to play it easily enough
DaMaGed-Id10t
Ah yes, a TRUE hidden gem. Game was a launch title I think for the PS3 and I thought it was so weird but it was pretty good.
inika41
Based on the box art, I’m assuming this is a SCE original game? If so, that’s pretty sad it’s been overshadowed and remembered by so few.
Was it an actually solid title or just so-so?
I kinda hate that Sony’s first party lineup has been rather drab and not feature peculiar titles like this. Kinda like the popular complaint that basically boils down to “no Ape Escape, Patapon or Parapa, only GoW, TLoU, and HZD”.

Ahhh nice choice. Rarely talked about game.
This game was special indeed. Never finished it.
Did Taylor Swift play that too?
Never heard of it until now. What was it like?

Wonderful music in it. Its [main theme](https://youtu.be/9Vg-870E4ck?si=2g7LQF9kvKlr9cGO) is especially good.
