during one of the last updates Malwarebytes added a garbage AI that, according to there website has "no human interaction to correctly identify malware."
today Malwarebytes deleted half my rainmeter install folder, suddenly declaring with AI only that its components cant exist anymore.
also deleted a ton of stuff I got off github, cause apparently independent software development is now illegal.
luckily there is a off button for the ai and it actually told me what it took so I know exactly what to redownload.

Frankly, just uninstall Malwarebytes. There’s generally no need for a 3rd party AV product.
Thanks alot for the warning! Maybe there’s a better malware-scanner that doesn’t attempt to brick my pc?

Quarantining random false hits has always been a thing, but deleting them, not quarantining them? Naw. Sounds like a class action suit waiting to happen.
Malwarebytes is no longer relevant, since most malware do not actually infect your system.
You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.
Why not just restore from quarantine?
OP Is clearly not saiyng the full story and is only saying this to put Malwarebytes in a bad position.
1. “Malware.AI” exists for years, it did NOT got added recently as OP states.
2. Malwarebytes puts detected Items into Quarantine. They never get fully deleted. So OP either doesnt know he could restore all his lost rainmeter skins in few clicks or again he is lying.
3. Same thing with his “stuff I got off github”. MB doesnt delete them, they quarantine it.
Also to others saying Malwarebytes is not needed. For the majority of people it may be not needed, but MB is finding Malware in the few % cases where Windows Defender can not keep it up.
This is coming from someone who is using Windows Defender AND Malwarebytes together for years.
No reason to have third party antivirus in 2024 unless you’re doing something you shouldn’t be doing
